Ovulation/BBT Chart Help

Below is the link to my charts in my signature...it appears that I didn't ovulate last cycle or at least according the chart on Fertility Friend, but I had positive OPKs. I am not sure if it was my body adjusting to a month without meds. The previous charts I was on Clomid and progesterone. Does anyone have any insight? We are trying to figure out when I actually ovulate so we can better time our insemination's at home. Thank you!

Re: Ovulation/BBT Chart Help

  • Unfortunately, I think you are posting in wrong place.  All of us are way past charting.  Most of us are doing IVF.

Good luck at finding some answers.  That is usually the hardest part.

PS... You should do an intro post into a new a group so that people know your story.

  • Hi there!

If I were you, I'd probably be looking for a new RE. I see that you've done a few medicated cycles, with both IUI and (at home) ICI, and they should be monitoring you better to make sure that you're ovulating, and when. It shouldn't be up to *you* to figure out when you're ovulating, you know?

Another thought, have you used the same donor for all inseminations?

  • Oh, sorry we are posting here hoping for advice. We are actually waiting for our appeal to our insurance for IVF. We were denied since we are using donor sperm (sigh).

Our RE is through Shady Grove and we have felt that they weren't doing everything they should be. Unfortunately we have no other option as that is who Kaiser works with so we are stuck with them if we want some of it to be covered. As for donors, we have switched three times now. They have all had good counts between 20-30. We may have to switch again if we get approved for IVF as our current one doesn't have any IVF vials.

  • Hello and welcome. Good luck with your IVFappeal. I'm also using donor sperm, and I've never heard that a special type of sample was required. I would ask your RE's lab about this.

Official diagnosis: Unexplained IF. I am 32. I have low ovarian reserve (low AMH), and poor egg quality. I've also been diagnosed with mild glandular developmental arrest (lining problems, detected with EFT).

We are using open ID donor sperm. IUIs #1-7=BFN. IVF September 2014 antagonist protocol, 8R,5M,3F, 5 day transfer of 1 morula = BFN. IVF#2 planned for January 2015 (antagonist protocol + HGH).

  • That's really terrible. Does Shady Grove work as a team of REs? Or could you maybe switch within the practice?

That has to be really frustrating that your insurance won't cover IVF with DS. Have you checked out the TPR board to see if anybody has any experience with that?

  • I go to a SG office with only 2 REs and I fired the first one in favor of the second. Best decision of my life. switching within practice should not be a problem, but I have heard other ladies from other SG offices have a hard time getting a different opinion, even with a dif. RE at the same office.

It never hurts to ask though. Good Luck!
  • Yes, we have heard stories about certain doctors at Shady Grove. Our clinic only has one RE, so we'd have to drive a bit to go to another that has a few. But it might be worth it, once we hear back from our appeal about IVF, we may switch doctors if we have to continue doing IUI.

We will look at other boards to see if others have been denied for IVF treatment for the same reason and if they successfully appealed. Thanks!

  • When we switched to IVF we jus used what sperm we had left we didn't buy the sperm for IVF. Really the only difference is how they have been washed and both my clinics perfered to wash it themselves.
