TTC After a Loss

BCP spotting?

I asked this on IF the other day, but figured it wouldn't hurt to ask here as well.

Last weekend I started bcp for our upcoming IVF cycle. I was extremely irritable and nauseous for days.
So, I switched to taking them at night and have now been taking them at night since last Wednesday.
The nausea is gone but now I'm spotting, mostly during the night. I'll take spotting over nausea but literally the spotting is dark brown, almost black.
Seriously, I feel like I have tar coming out of my vagina

I'll ask the nurse at my next appt, but was wondering if you guys have any experience? :-S

Re: BCP spotting?

  • I am sorry you are experiencing this. I have never had spotting with bcp. Maybe you have an irritated cervix and it is definitely old blood. Definitely ask the nurse or dr.

  • @rubysi‌ , my trial transfer was the same day that I started the bcp at night, so I was thinking maybe irritated cervix, but was also thinking it would have stopped by now

@Frenchteachermama‌ , I'll let you know! I'm already over this fucking process :))

  • I don't have any advice beyond what PP have posted, but I love vagina tar. I think you should either a. put that in your siggy ("Claim to fame - coined the term vagina tar") or update your sn. RachaelVaginaTarLeigh has a nice ring to it.

  • Thanks for the support, ladies. I definitely need to make a badge. Maybe if I become pgal I'll make one that says, "I survived Vagina Tar"

@Rcvb22‌ sorry that you're dealing with some vag tar, but I'm glad I'm not alone!

Vagina tar is a new term for me! I may have to use it to gross MH out one day.

Edit: but seriously, I'm sorry for the vag tar :(
I am not sure how to say this without getting a "solicitation" warning so I guess I just say that I am not longer active on THIS site.

I've told DH about the spotting, but haven't described or used the new term yet. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought about it...looking forward to grossing him out
