Anyone else struggling with insomnia?

hey guys! So I'm just wondering if anyone else is struggling with insomnia and what you've tried that has helped. I'm averaging 3-4 hours a night, and this has been going on for over a month. Ob ok'd melatonin, baths, chamomile..nothing seems to work. Between the back pain, constantly having to pee, and no sleep I'm ready to have a mini breakdown. Sorry if this comes of whiney, I know they're are a lot of ladies out there dealing with worse, any suggestions?!

  • This happens to me all the time. Even before I was pregnant. I don't have a tv in my room just for this reason. I find that if I get up and go into the living room and watch a little tv I'll get sleepy. I've made a point to only do two things in my bed and that's sleep and sex.
  • Routine. I try to be in bed by 9:30 in hopes that I can squeeze in four - five of sleep time over the night. Warm milk, tea, mediation, and if that doesn't work, I am awake love titting here.
  • Thanks ladies for all the tips!

That's how I'm looking at it too ;)

  • It's 2 am here... I'm about ready to cry.
  • Benedryl (my dr approved) and dehydrating myself helps. I try not to drink anything after 7 pm if I can avoid it. This way I get at least 5 or 6 hours but the insomnia on bad weeks really affects my work. I have a very thought heavy job and I have found myself making dumb mistakes. Cry..... I pride myself at being at the top of my game and am finding this experience super frustrating.....it makes me upset and angry at the whole thing....my MIL doesn't understand and judges me because I don't like pregnancy and am having trouble seeing the upside of this whole thing. I just don't feel connected at all with the person I am growing. Mostly just resentful is insane considering it took my husband and I over a year to conceive. Sorry for the mini rant. We had lunch with her yesterday and I am just tired of the looks she gives.
  • I'm sorry you're having trouble sleeping. I know you earlier expressed an interest in becoming a part of the community. A fine first step is to lurk more and comment and support others for a while before flooding the board with posts. Best wishes to you.

I wonder if your doctor would let you have a few Ambien for when things are at their worst? Mine did for me, but I've only taken it once so far.
