Aurora, Cecilia or Nora?

We're expecting our first baby and we cannot seem to decide what name to go for. After long deliberations the only name from my lists he likes is Aurora and from his side, he proposed Cecilia that is not my style but he likes a lot.

I don't like Cecilia nn Ceci as it would sound almost exactly how kids pronounce "sexy" in our country of origin. I will personally use Lia as a nn which I like a lot.

Edited: the options are Aurora Cecilia or Nora

Which one do you like best?

I just find Cecilia easier to say. Especially for kids who have problems with their R's.

You said he likes Aurora, but you don't like Cecilia at all. The answer here is pretty clear. Don't choose something you really dislike.

i like Aurora. Out of my list it's the only name he didn't dislike. As an alternative he proposed Cecilia.

I chose Cecilia as it's a nice name but it's NMS. I really don't like Aurora.

That's my point. He doesn't dislike Aurora (your choice), but you really dislike his choice of Cecilia. Maybe you should toss them both and start over. But as it stands right now, he is more fond of your choice than you are of his. At least, that's what it sounds like.

I like both but prefer Cecilia. I think Cece is a cute nn.

However, I think you should start over if you don't both like the names.

Other ideas: Celine, Emilia, Ivy, Miriam, Audrey, Cecily, Zara, Bryony.

I really like Cecilia and don't think it needs a nickname at all (I love the Simon and Garfunkel song of the same name too).

What about Cecily or Audrey?

Def Nora. Or Cecelia. Aurora reminds me of aurora borealis the northern lights. I met a hippy once that named her dog aurora. Not my style!

Nora, please!! I LOVE it, it was my #1 girl name and then we found out we're having a boy. Which of course is exciting but I am sad that I won't get to use the name Nora. (or spelled with an h at the end if you like that better - I would have had a hard time deciding!)
