I drank homemade kefir and kombucha in moderation with my last pregnancy and I am doing the same this time around.
Traditionally (in the East) kombucha is not recommended for pregnant/nursing mothers and children bc it is cleansing. But kefir is reccomended bc it is fortifying. Though all of the Western scientific based research I have found deems kombucha and kefir safe for pregnancy in moderation, though I also suggest that you do your own research as well since it is a personal decision like eating nitrates or sprouts for example.
I drink kefir and have read that it's not only okay to have, but recommended by some. The healthy bacteria it contains aids in digestion, which has slowed down for many women by now. Kombucha I feel less sure about due to the fact that it is fermented and I thought could contain trace amounts of alcohol? I may be wrong on that one as I haven't studied up on it. I'd go for the kefir tho!
