Does Mylicon work?

DD has recently stopped sleeping well at night.  She is waking up every 2 hours crying.  A bunch of people suggested using mylicon because it might be gas that is waking her.  However, our pedi said that mylicon really doesn't work.  Who to believe?  Arghh!

  • i think it works. our little girl had really bad gas for a couple weeks and we finally got that for her and now she is fine. our pedi said we could try it but he didnt think it worked either. .. but it did!
  • It definitely works for us. We put it in every single bottle and his gas is a lot better!
  • I never thought it worked, but that was b.c I wasn't consistent with it.  Now that DS is at daycare, and it goes in every bottle he gets there, I have DEFINITELY noticed a difference and so have the daycare ladies!
  • It didn't do anything for DS, but I'd try it just in case. It may work for your baby.
  • I'd like to add that gripe water helps a lot. So, if Mylicon doesn't work for you, you might try it.

  • works for us!  I give it 3 times a day.
  • I think it does. DS used to twist and turn in his sleep and then wake himself because he passed gas so hard. Since I started Mylicon it is much less frequent. Oh, and a tip if you don't already have any - I've discovered the Target brand is much cheaper than any other I've found yet - costs 1/3 of what brand name does. (haven't checked Walmart, I'm sure it's comparable)

I also use Target brand and it is soooo much cheaper.  I checked the back of just about every gas relief brand and they all have exactly the same ingredients.

I feel like it works a little bit for DS, but that it might work better if I use it more often.  Even if it doesn't work, it makes me feel better because I'm feeling like I'm doing something.
