Hi!
I just can't not share this little picture of our new bunny rabbit. DW thinks this doesn't look like her, perfectly. And I said it looks like the way she looks sometimes.
She has been just about the most perfect baby ever. Last night she ate about every hour, but this morning she has been sleeping for long stretches of 2+ hours. William thinks she is great and especially likes her feet and that she poops. He has shared his "nigh-nigh" (blankie) with her. He only put it over her face a few times. This might seem mean, but that is how he likes to wear it, so it makes sense. He also likes taking her diapers to the rubbish.
Big Sis likes her very much, too.
Funny thing: last night was her first night home. Big Sis was supposed to be at a sleepover camp way out in the mountains, about 45 minutes away. As I go to pick up William from daycare (about 4:30pm), the camp calls saying she was vomiting. I try to figure out if she is just nervous or really sick, and the counselor thinks more nervous. So I talk DD off a ledge and try to get her to stay. I get DS home, and he is ALL wound up, kind of out-of-sorts due to the two nights sleeping elsewhere, so he is very, very clingy to me. I'm trying to cook, he is crying, DW needs help getting situated with breastfeeding, my dogs are bouncing off the walls because they have been seriously shortchanged on walks over the last 3 days . . . And I get a call again that DD is throwing up again. I end up getting DS to bed (crying and with a forbidden sippy-cup), and I snarf my dinner, kiss my wife and baby and drive 45 minutes into the black night. And then home with a kid and a puke bag.
Before I left, while we were eating our dinner, we shared a look and chuckled that these sorts of circumstances are why people don't have kids.
Well, that and the crying.
And, yes, when the baby cried at 4am, the 22 month old woke up crying and said, "Baby crying!" It's like dominoes of drama.
And completely worth it.
Thanks for letting me share.
