Baby Names

Baby Names

I already posted on the 2nd Tri board, but then I found this spot as well. I'm 21w4d, FTM, this will be my husband's 3rd child. We have Natalia and Santiago, boy and girl.

We aren't finding out boy/girl so we have to find both. For the boy we were set on Tiago, but decided we're crazy cause it's so close to Santiago.

So, today I found Clemente, both love it (for now haha!) I want a "K" name, so we would go with Klemente Lee. Our problem is how our American born people would pronounce it- Kle-men-tay, or Kle-ment (no "ay" sound).

For the girl, we are settled on Olivia Ruth, but I'm worried about it being such a popular first name, anyone with experience with a popular name have any problems?etc.?

Thanks for your answers.

Re: Baby Names

  • I love Olivia but I feel like it's far too common compared with Natalia and Santiago. Suggestions:

    Lydia Ruth
    Francesca Ruth
    Alexandra Ruth
    Felicity Ruth
    Livia Ruth

As for the boy name, I'm not familiar with the name and would pronounce it clement(no ay). Is the "k" spelling legitimate? If so, I don't see the problem but like I said I'm not familiar with the name so it's hard for me to comment.
  • Clemente (which I'd pronounce Cle-men-tay) sounds feminine to my American ear because it's so close to Clementine. I dislike the K a lot.

Olivia is nice and goes well with the sibset.

  • Olivia Ruth is lovely. I'm not familiar with Clemente personally.

Dislike Clemente. Even more so if spelled with a K. No good.

If your step children's name are Natalia and Santiago, I would choose another Italian or Spanish name that fits with those two...

Alejandro, Alessio, Andres, Cesar, Cristian, Dante, Dominic, Giovanni, Hugo, Joaquin, Marco, Mateo, Miguel, Rocco, Victorio

    ETA to add girl names

Olivia is lovely. Here are few more options in the same vein as Natalia

Adriana, Angelina, Bianca, Caterina, Elisabetta, Fabiana, Francesca, Paloma, Serafina, Violetta, Viviana

  • I think of Roberto Clemente. Try again
  • I went camping in San Clemente a lot as a child so that's all I think of. It's hard for me to picture it as a name but I don't hate it.  I do hate Klemente though.

Olivia seems common in comparison to your other kids' names.

    Graciela
    Paloma

  • Ruth Olivia.
    I don't like Clemente.
  • Olivia Ruth is fantastic! I don't care for Clemente but please don't throw in a K because you want a K name. That is ridiculous. I think Santiago and Natalia are gorgeous and need an equal name to go with them and I don't think Clemente is that b
