One of my irl friends (not an online forum user) is asking if soy formula has caused any constipation in any LO's. If I could pass on any info you ladies have, I'd appreciate it.

Were on Soy, but I feel like I can't really answer it. LO has been on it for a while but we also have to put rice cereal in it for his severe reflux. I will say we have problems at times with him using the bathroom. We add some karo at times.

We tried to start LO on soy formula. We started slowly with only 2oz for 2 days and we had to stop. She had such severe constipation and was pushing so much she gave herself a prolapse. We ended up in urgent care where they had to give her an enema and suppository. I can't believe how stopped up she was and what came out. However, the nurse told her this was one of the more severe cases she's seen and LO reaction to formula was very out of the ordinary for only having 4oz over 2 days. We had to switch to a hypoallergenic formula and are still introducing it very slowly while using miralax. So far she is up to 4oz a day and seems to be doing okay.

DD was on soy formula for about five months. I never noticed any constipation issues while she was on it.
