Personal insult? Pretty much everyone of the comments from the "regulars" have been a personal insult towards me.

I didn't attack her.  Da bears said she didn't recognize her and I helpfully pointed out I remembered her from her post.  I also reported her because she called everyone on the board "bitches".  How is that an attack?  

I know you love to WK mamamads but you can't seriously think someone who pops onto the board occasionally saying "men are afraid or angered by crying women" is good for the board.

I am a normal contributing member of this board but when someone needs to poke at me incessantly I am going to respond and what I say probably won't be nice. Just like any other human I will defend myself so please stop acting like that is an unbelievable thing. It's human nature. I am one of the people who happen to think your dramatics with the rule changes or whatever are pointless, TB isn't going to change their minds because some people pitched a fit.. I would much rather continue business as usual and help the lurkers or people who have no idea whats going on than continue talking about this or stage a little "24 hours of silence" which accomplished nothing. I totally agree with you and I didn't read all her insults, just know people react differently to things. She obviously felt deeply offended or helpless thus reacting more harshly than warranted I'm sure.

@mamamads From what I can gather there were women who have been on here for YEARS. Years, who started on the knot, then came here, who were offered tons of support through really hard times. A lot of those same people were banned for no reason, from what I can tell. I think it's mean to call bully, cause a stir for people trying to voice their opinions with the 24 hours of silence (how does that hurt or offend you?) and then to come on here and call them bitches. If you are trying to prove something I don't know what it is. You want to call them bullies because namecalling happened, and then come on here and pretty much do the same. It doesn't make any sense to me.

I came on the bump right when I got pregnant and as a ftm. Prior to the bump I used other apps for fertility. I've enjoyed reading through message boards that I find interesting, relatable or where I'm curious and want to learn. I have to say it's been obnoxious to see all the drama that goes on here mostly surrounding certain cliques. What does it matter how long you've been around, how many posts you've made, if you've made relationships and what your avatar is? The bump is open to everyone!

Bottom line is this is a public forum for anyone to join and post about. I find nothing wrong with trying to control unnecessary rudeness through some easy to follow guidelines. In fact I think it's very proactive. If you break the guidelines then you are gone, that's how it goes in life.

I'm going to stick around and check every few days, post very occasionally like I've done the past 3 months even if I get negative feedback from giving my opinion.

And you know even If any of these women were "banned" they can easily create a new profile and continue with there posting If it means so much to do it here .. I mean why take it personally? It's like when FB takes down a photo just cause someone flagged it, what do u do? Repost... I'm sure most people have more than one email address...and if not yahoo will give you some for free and pretty easily... It's not very serious to get ban from a website...

Yea, like I said I don't read every post on here... but well, that sucks... but again there are ways around it. It takes 30seconds to change your ip address, I've done this before : just Google how to change your IP address in less than 30 seconds

They don't want to come back on principle.  That's different than not being able to.  And people are upset because they feel it was handled inappropriately, the ip bannings without warning.  

Another kind suggestion: look around a bit - you'll see this has all been covered in many, many places.

Were you talking to me because I never called anyone a bully or a bitch? You must be referring to someone else, also it doesn't hurt me that they stage 24 hours of silence it hurts all the people who come here for support or have questions and find a dead board. I'm thinking that kinda contradicts the point of this post. As I said, you and I can throw insults out there with the best of them. But basically calling us a bunch of bitches kinds defeats the point of calling us mean. There's been times I've been horribly offended, "backed against the all". Trust me I am super offended right now. But I haven't gone there. I don't see the point to call someone else a bully because they are so mean to me and then do the same exact thing that they do. (and, yes, this is a general statement.)

You are right and like I said she reacted more harshly than warranted. I think everyone reacts differently to things and has different buttons that set them off. Sometimes it's harder to be the "bigger" person.

I think the real issue, @dreinhardt, is that the "unnecessary rudeness" that you describe is wholly subjective. What one person deems rude, another person may deem totally reasonable. People are upset because it seems that the guidelines were enforced inconsistently, mostly against those who questioned the validity of the guidelines in the first place. 

I also think had you been on here for longer than 3 months (I haven't, so I'm in the same boat as you) you might be a little bit more understanding why people are sad to see people who they have formed relationships with being banned from the site for seemingly inconsistent reasons.
