Intro and Question

Hello all! I have a new little one who is just over a week and half old! With my first I had terrible latch issues and ended up pumping for about 10 weeks. This time my little guy is a great latched and we have been successful breastfeeding!!

I do have a question though he comes on and off a lot before he really gets going, it's not all the time but frequent enough to cause frustration for both of us. Is this normal? Should I be doing something different? I have been trying to hold him really close to my body and be really focused. Do I need to see an LC about this or is it just part of the learning process?

LC's told me to hand express a little first to help him know the milk was there for him.
