So I have been feeding my LO rice cereal for a month( he is 5 months) and I need your help/advice as to when I should introduce the next solid. Should I introduce fruits or veggies first? Anyone hear of the "P" foods? Help!
Everyone is kind of quiet today so I'll try and help even though I'm only starting solids with LO this coming weekend. I'm not starting with cereal (he's 5 months) so the first 5 foods I am going to try are...sweet potatoes, avocado, green beans, carrots, and bananas. I will try one food for three days (1 meal/day) and give approx. 3 tsp of food (if he likes it) until he moves onto the next food. From my understanding once you know they do not have a reaction to a certain food it can be added to the menu and then mixed with other foods.
I'm sure this is one of those questions in which you will receive many different answers and its mostly just personal preference. Just and FYI there is an ongoing "Solid Foods" discussion on here that you may want to reference...has some good information.
Our LO tried green beans last night and hated them. Winners so far are prunes, sweet potato snd pear with carrots and applesauce making the good list. We have done like above, one meal a day, one new food every 3 days to make sure there are no allergic reactions. There is a solid food thread started a while ago with a lot of what people have done too if you want to check that out. It's fun to intro new foods!
