8 months and not copying. anyone else?

She only copies one sound that we make. But doesn't copy any motions that we do. She also isn't using consonants yet. Mostly shrieking and ooohing and ahhing. Do I need to be concerned? Anyone else having this going on?

DD isn't really copying anything we do unless it's hitting a surface then she will do the same. But that's mostly out of excitement, not because we did that particular motion. I'm not too concerned since she's hitting other milestones, but babies are all so different and can start doing something new overnight. I wouldn't worry too much at all.

Mine does that too! She bangs her hand on everything! She's crawling, standing up, picking up food, but as far as verbal and mimicking goes... I dunno . Maybe I'm worrying too much?

My sleep deprived brain read this as coping and I thought, "Yeah, I am not coping well either. No sleep."  Also, I am so sleep deprived, that I don't know whether cope + ing is spelled coping or copeing.

My LO is not yet repeating things either. He just started saying dadadadada this week but before that it was just oooos and aaaahs. He's alp only army crawling too and I feel like he should be crawling better now but I try not to stess over it

I wouldn't worry yet, but it can't hurt to discuss your concerns with her pedi at her 9 month.

DS2 doesn't really copy anything we do yet. He does babble and "say" buh buh buh or dadadadada but still doesn't do much. I'm not worried yet.

We're in EI right now on a communication delay in part because he has no consonants other than m and does not copy sounds we make. I'd talk to the pedi and/or call EI.
