I am due with my second girl at the end of February and need some help on name ideas. I want to remember my father, Allen, who passed away a few years ago by choosing a name similar to or derived from Allen. So far we have come up with Allison and Ellen, which are ok, but we're not loving either of those options. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated!
Some additional details:
We like more classic/old fashioned names
Big sister's name is Charlotte Elizabeth
Middle name will be Grant (yes, unusual for a girl, but it's a family thing for my husband)
Bonus points if nickname of Al can be used! (we call Charlotte Charlie a lot)
Thanks for all the great suggestions!! I will have to share these with DH and see what he thinks.
@kellybenelly83 I love the idea of Aliena, plus Pillars of the Earth was one of my dad's absolute favorite books. Such a great idea!
The boyish nicknames may not be everyone's style, but we like them as a true nickname (as in, not the name we use every day, but something cute to use occasionally). My FIL is Charles, so he loves to call DD Charlie.
I wouldn't normally do Allyn, but in this case I might. That's all I can think of, I'm not good at this haha. Maybe a version of Adalyn (idk what's real or made up as far as that name goes) and then the occasional nn could be Allyn?
Re: Girl name derived from Allen
Alena?
Elaine?
Elin?
Allena is apparently a Celtic name which is the female version of Allen...
And then there's the bad made up spelling/name of Allyn /:)
