Hi! I'm new to this site, and new to suburban Chicago via NYC.
I'm 8 weeks along with my first, and am looking for an OB recommendation in the NW suburbs. Preferably in the Buffalo Grove/Arlington Heights/Wheeling area. Any guidance is appreciated! (I started trying to figure out the best hospitals first, but became overwhelmed!!)
Re: New to Chicagoland. Looking for OB in NW suburbs.
I went through Northwest Women's Consultants www.nw-womens.com I thought they were really good. All the doctors in the group were personable and asked me what questions I had before they launched into whatever they needed to tell me and before doing the exam. I didn't feel rushed with any of them. Being a group, they do encourage you to have visits with all the doctors since they don't know which one will be on call when you deliver. If I had to guess, I would say 75% of the time I saw the doctor within 5-10 minutes of the appointment. Also, I found the admin staff to be helpful and I never had any problems with my billing. They’re affiliated with Northwest Community Hospital(only). I ended up having an emergency c-section. The doctor that ended up doing the delivery and the rest of the medical team at the hospital worked very quickly taking all the actions they needed to do, but they spoke calmly and with confidence to me & my husband about what they were doing and what would happen next. In my mind I was starting to freak out but their demeanor helped keep me from losing my mind. FYI – baby was delivered just fine and is in good health! Good luck in your search!

@budzer check out Arlington Pediatrics LTD. www.arlingtonpediatrics.com. All the doctors we've seen so far have been good. They all have some common sense advice and go over our questions before they do the exam. We haven't had to wait more than 5 mins past the appointment time. I also like that they have separate waiting rooms for sick and non sick kids. If you're BFing they have lactation consultants who have very good insights. They're also understanding and realistic.
Another place I heard good things about was North ArlingtonPediatrics. Sounds like some women I know like them also.
Good luck to you both, it's a fun area to live in!
