Hi all, i am a first time mom to be at 19.5 weeks and have not felt any movement - anyone else facing the same? Have my 20 week scan next week feeling a tad nervouse!
Im having my sixth and im only just feeling reg movment at 21 weeks. Everyone is different. Last couple of children i felt very early. Relax for now im sure youl start to feel some wee flitters soon. All very exciting
Might be the location of the placenta. I remember when my SIL went in for her a/s so 20 or so weeks, she still had not felt movement and this was her third baby. Turns out the placenta was in the front.
Totally normal. I didn't feel movement (or at least I didn't realize I was) the first time around until our A/S at 19 weeks when I saw DS move and felt it at the same time. Always bring up concerns to your doc, but don't stress too much as pp said 16-22 weeks is normal and you're well within that range.

This! I had my A/S yesterday and I asked the tech if I happen to have an anterior placenta. She looked at me a bit odd and asked why I asked. I told her I hadn't felt much of anything (until about 2 days ago). When she looked, she said sure enough it was.

When I was around 20 weeks I had the same concern. I couldn't feel my baby move and I wasn't sure what to expect, being a first time mommy myself. The ultrasound came back positive, but the fact that I couldn't have an ultrasound everyday still made me nervous, because I still couldn't feel him move at 22 weeks. It was about 23-24 weeks where I started getting any real action in my belly. More like intense butterflies. Doctors that I have talked to said that everyone carries different. No one mommy is alike! So it could be today that you feel something or several weeks from now. From my experience..don't panic unless you have a real reason too. You have enough to be thinking about getting everything ready for your new family member. Hope everything works out
My wife and I have a Doppler that lets us listen to the heartbeat. I'm not sure how much they cost (a friend gave us hers), but any time my wife is feeling sick and starts getting nervous about the baby, it gives us peace of mind to be able to hear that the baby's little heart is still beating in there.
