Letter from the president (for baby)

Did anyone do this for LO#1 or 2? I did this for both and Ethan's seemed to arrive quickly, but Abby's still hasn't shown up (that I recall). I'm going to check her baby book when I get home to make sure I'm not losing my mind, but what do I do if I never got one?

Re: Letter from the president (for baby)

  • I should add, I ordered exactly the right amount of baby announcements, so I have no extras to resend one...

  • I've never even heard of this. What do you do to get one?

  • I think L's came some time in December - so 3 monthsish? I sent the announcement along with the rest of mine, so the middle of September.

Maybe mock up a new birth announcement on the computer and mail it? It doesn't have to be fancy, just print it on regular paper with a picture in the corner.

    Kid #1 - 09/03/12
    Kid #2 - maybe???

Do you have the jpeg of the announcement? Just reprint it on photo paper, they won't judge you lol.
ETA: or just copy/scan the one in her baby book.

If you google it, it gives you an address to send the announcement to. You just send an announcement and in return you receive a letter addressed to your child from the current president! I thought it was cool and I voted Obama both elections so I wanted one sent to both kids..

  • I feel like I remember hearing that close to the holidays it can take quite some time. But yeah, I'd just resend. You can even write the information on a postcard and send it in--it doesn't have to be a fancy announcement.
Good idea. I was late in sending her announcements out, it was late November, so it's probably just too early at this point.

Oh how neat! Well it's way past the cut off for B so I'll have to remember for the next one! Thanks!
