Re: Spamtastic Tuesday

  • I tested negative for Factor V Leiden - but the lab wants more of my blood today to check for a different mutation (Factor II). I wish they would have just taken enough the first time! My left arm is still beat up, so today they'll need to bruise up my right arm I guess.

  • Nothing much here. Small contractions all night. Some other stuff too but it borders on taking pics of a mucous plug.

Update from yesterday. I don't think my nose is actually broken, just bruised pretty bad. The tell-tale for my past broken noses were eyes swollen shut the next day. While it still hurts and is a little bruised, no swelling anymore.
  • @misshart00 DS has head butted me in the nose in the past. Hurts like a b----, but luckily no broken nose! I'm glad yours doesn't seem to be broken!

  • Hola.

Sorry you have to have more blood drawn today. @michelle142‌.

I am still in bed. Late pregnancy has made me super lazy in the mornings. I am typically out of bed by 7am easily. I think I am taking advantage of it before I can't :) well that and the whole insomnia keeping me up at night thing...

  • I'm jealous of anyone who can stay in bed past 7am!
My internal clock has me up before then even on the days (which are few) I can sleep past then.

DS spent the night by Grandma on Saturday night and I was still up at 6am on Sunday. Lame.

Typically mine to that is what is crazy. But I have been away from 3:30-5 ish the last 3 nights and finally fall back asleep after 5. I think that is the only reason I am asleep till 7.

My ex-husband and mother in law have that. I haven't gotten the kids tested for it yet because they haven't needed surgery of any sort. Sorry for all the blood draws :(

The only reason I'm being tested now is because my sister had a series of strokes last month and tested positive for Factor V and a few mutations. She actually had surgery yesterday to repair a hole in her heart - which wasn't directly related to the Factor V, but something else. The hole and the FV combined suddenly started causing issues, so surgery was necessary.

  • No real spam today. OB appointment at 2, cleaning the kitchen (if I get around to it) today and making shopping list of last minute baby items I might need. MIL is taking me to the dr so FX I can get her to stop at the store on the way home.
  • Ladies I feel like I could sleep all day. It's 9am and I'm still laying in bed contemplating going back to sleep. But I'd like to get up and go to the pediatrician we picked out to fill out the paperwork we need. Hope everyone has a great Tuesday.
  • @holachicaaa I was just thinking the same thing. I guess they are just too busy nesting. ;)

    Anniversary

  • Good morning, ladies! I'm sitting at work again today with no students. All my exams are over, so I'm working on lesson plans. Apparently my asst. principal (also pregnant) didn't get my long term sub set up and now she is out. Our other AP just came to me to get my due date and how many weeks I will be out. That freaking paperwork has been submitted since the beginning of October! Ugh! It looks like I won't meet my sub before I go out. I have decided I can't worry about that. I did what I was supposed to do.

On the bright side, my DH is on cloud nine today because his Buckeyes won last night. I heard him yell around midnight, so I knew it was a good outcome.

Now I'm getting ready for possible freezing rain tonight. NC will lose its mind if we get ice. I will not leave the house if it happens. We southerners don't do winter weather well.
  • Not a ton for me today.  Crazy busy at work. I always hate the new year, we get a million new cases. (No one wants to file for divorce in December at the holidays)

I think i am getting a sinus infection.  I am not amused.

  • Laying here at the doc's office, waiting for the dr to actually come in to see me. I wish thy would wait to give you a room until the dr is actually ready. I was much more comfortable in the lobby chairs than sitting on this exam table.

Next I'm off to the county clerk to transfer the title on our new to us Durango that DH's parents gave me last week. Since my mustang isn't very car seat friendly. I mean seriously why do those things even come with a backseat?!

  • @digwriter that is SUCH a cute idea! I have a few friends due after me- I'm totally going to put some of those together for them!

I've been lurking lately, but not posting too much. I don't have too much of interest going on.  I'll be full term on Sunday. I'm pretty much done with all my fun big projects at work and now I'm picking up little bitch tasks that annoy me. Construction is on going on the addition at home, and is due to be finished ON my due date still. They might be done a week early, but I'm not going to assume that'll happen because I'll just get annoyed.

I'm mostly bored and cranky- not sleeping well, fighting with heartburn, and not really enjoying the last month of pregnancy. Everything annoys me. My MIL is throwing me a shower this weekend (which I really don't want) and that's my latest annoyance. UGH. Yeah, I'm a brat.

  • nomnomasaur0426 that happened to me yesterday! I was pretty embarressed that I must have looked so uncomfortable that someone had to ask me if I was going into labor. BUT the room was fricken 75.6 degrees. No room should EVER be that warm! I just don't get it! I've always disliked the heat, but i've become a sweaty mess throughout this pregnancy.  The office I'm working in today is a wonderful 70 and I am so happy and thankful for that :)

Tomorrow marks my 37 week mark and I am pumped! It is hard to walk, there is so much pressure down there, and some pretty gross things have been happening (I'll spare you all the details). My anxiety is through the roof thinking about going into labor at any time.  Especially where I am all alone at night. I'm sure my dogs can coach me through it till my husband can make it home from work!

Went to a really good breastfeeding class last night! I skipped the birthing class, but went to this one. I learned a lot, so much so that now I kind of regret not going to the birthing class. Oh well! Women have been doing all of this since the beginning of time, I'm bound to figure it out!

  • @hollydenton‌ I totally kwym. I was waiting forever on the exam table yesterday and could not get comfortable. Plus I was undressed from waist down so I had to stay there...ugh.

My spam is that I found out I tested pos for group b strep. This makes me nervous for some reason (and I'm a microbiologist that tests this lol). Didn't have it with DD. Anyone else gbs positive?

Also, I finished all my maternity leave paperwork that I've been b&m'ing about. Gave it to make dr yesterday so it is out of my hands! Now I'm anxious to have this baby!

I was looking to supplement our clothing supply for LO at BuyBuyBaby and saw these 2 pieces on the same hanger together. I almost bought it on the spot...then I saw they were not actually a set and cost over $30 to buy both. Couldn't justify that cost. Why are some baby clothes so stupidly expensive?!

ETA: It's also possible I'm just cheap :P

I am not looking forward to the freezing rain! My husband will have to leave even earlier in the morning to make it to the fire station. Luckily, I don't have to go to work until the afternoon but still-people are already going nuts!!
  • I am tired of parent coworkers complaining about their kids and then telling me "Oh this is what you get to look forward to."
I know kids are not sunshine and roses 100 percent of the time, but at 36 weeks all I want to hear are the cute, it's all worth it stories.
    OK rant over.

    *******suicide mentioned possible trigger**********

Then DH called a couple minutes after he got to work (which he never does) and told me that his cousin committed suicide this morning. I'm at a loss for words and don't even know how to handle this. His cousin was young but this was her third attempt. I wanted her to get help and feel somewhat guilty.
  • Rough night last night. Up for 2 hours with cramps kindof contractions. First time it's happened so I don't know if those were Braxton hicks, Gass or what. Understanding those am I in labor post better now though cause I really wasn't sure! I was able to get back to sleep around 4 am so I'm dragging today.

Also found out I'm strep b positive which sucks. I know it's by far not the worst thing but ivs freek me out and I was going to try med free in good part to avoid an Iv. That's how much they scare me.
  • Ohhhh @DBJackson25, I'm so sorry. Thoughts and prayers for his family!

I'm feeling punked today. I didn't sleep well either. Today is not a nap day for me...boooooo.

On a positive note, I had a bio-physical profile yesterday. My AFI is mildly high (28 cm), but the baby scored 8/8. I've never had a BPP before, so this was new for me. I literally cried while she was watching the baby do her "practice breathing."

  • My doctor is thinking I may go early for a variety of reasons. I'm due February 8. H just asked if we should have a Super Bowl party. I wish I had a picture of my face.

I just realized yesterday by dd is super bowl sunday. I hadn't really thought about it. Usually I push more then dh to go to a party to see a group if friends who are about 40 minutes away from where we live. Probably a bad idea this year :(

I'm good with going to one if I'm still pregnant. But I'm not throwing one.

Nah just take your bag with you. Unless it makes the hospital 2hrs away instead of one... Then I might reconsider.

  • @flyster‌ we live 45 minutes from our hospital which is also the closest hospital. I think a 40 min drive would be ok. Like PP's have said just make sure to bring everything with.
  • I know i should call the doc, but busy at work and dont have the time to..

anyone know if there is any over the counter stuff we can take for a head cold?  Stuffy nose, etc.

The list my OB gave me says: Tylenol Cold and Sinus, Benadryl, Claritin, Mucinex, Singulair, Sudafed, Zyrtec. It also clarifies 'No products containing alcohol'.
