Possible blighted ovum again after previous blighted ovum

Need a little advice. I have a 31/2 yr old and had zero trouble getting pregnant with her. Last jan I miscarried early then we tried again and became pregnant in July with the end of a blighted ovum. We went for an ultrasound today that I thought I would be 7 weeks but measured behind and possible empty sac. I'm at a complete loss! My dr said a blighted ovum is rare but possibly twice? Did beta work and will go back to make sure it's rising properly and will get another u/s. She said uterus and measuring looked great. She is hopeful the baby will grow. Any experience and advice. I believe you will find that many of us have had blighted ovums around here, including myself. I don't believe it is particularly rare. I can think of at least one woman on TTCAL who had 3 in a row.

The difference between 6 and 7 weeks can make a big difference on an early ultrasound. Is it possible your dates could be off?

I know this limbo that you are in is awful. Honestly, we see some women go back in a week later and there is a healthy baby, others go back and there is no growth. My fingers are crossed for you that there is a baby in there!

Thank you ladies for the support! I pray that I ovulated later and that when we go back it will all be ok. I've had zero complications this time compared to last blighted ovum. I will keep you ladies posted. Again thanks for the support.

Loss #1 - Initially diagnosed with a blighted ovum, but pathology showed molar. I knew something was wrong though - symptoms stopped, etc. At 8 wks no fetal pole, just empty sac. I had an US a wk later and it showed no fetal pole.

Loss #2 - 6+1 healthy HB of 127 bpm. 10+2 no HB. Diagnosed with MMC.

I would definitely recommend you get another US in a week. Like PP have said, a week makes an enormous difference especially if you were not temping/OPKing. FX for a HB!

Hi ladies just a small update. My level from mon was 1,250 and gestation sac measured 5 weeks so they were thrilled but we wil no anything certain until Monday when I do more blood work and an ultrasound. T & P's as more waiting begins.

I had a blighted ovum in August of 13 at 10w and another in April of 14 at 8w. I was told it was a very rare occurrence too but I had the two and the doctor seemed unfazed by it while I was freaking out. I switched docs and my new one out me on progesterone and I'm now 23w and so relieved. Hang in there. T&Ps for you.

Time to say goodbye.... I started spotting yesterday and miscarruing today. I pray to do it all natural like last time if my body allows. This is my third loss in a year. We will confirm by ultrasound Monday and hopefully do testing. My heart is broken but i know God has a plan.
