Chicco Keyfit 30 Magic or Mesa Car Seat??

Hi everyone - 

We have decided on the Uppababy Vista for our stroller. We like the bassinet option and plan on using the bassinet in our bedroom for the first few months. So, hoping to get our money's worth!

With that said, we are stuck on a car seat...while the Mesa seems like the easiest option - do not need to buy an adapter and it's still a highly rated seat, we also like the Chicco Keyfit 30 Magic.  I have read that the Mesa is heavier and that the canopy stains when it rains (we plan on getting black, so not even sure this is an issue). 

Does anyone have any experience using the vista with the chicco adapter and car seat? If so, have you used it in doubles mode? I am worried that if we use the keyfit and have a second child down the road, the second seat may not have as much room available than if we had the mesa car seat.
