periods and bf supply

I can't remember for the life of me how the retun of periods affects supply, so, my question - for those of you who are bf'ing and have had your period return, does your supply seem to drop before af, during, or something else?

My supply has been low for a few days now and today I noticed some spotting that I think might be the beginnig of af. My supply seems better today, so I'd like to write off the low supply to that, but I thought I remembered a supply dip during af instead of before...?
