I am in the middle of my second IUI cycle. I have PCOS and my last cycle was cancelled because I produced too many mature follicles. I am on CD 16 and have a total of 18 mature follicles (ranging from 12mm to 17mm). It's seeming to me that reducing the meds (which is what they did differently this cycle) is still not having an effect on me, and I'm still going to keep producing too many mature follies. I'm waiting to hear back from my RE today (I had blood work and u/s this morning). Has anyone converted from IUI to IVF? Can you tell me a little bit about your experience? What was the process? I just want to know what to be ready for and what to ask my RE when she calls today. Any insight would be appreciated. Thank you!
We've been TTC since 12/13. We've tried Clomid, Letrozole, and now on Follistim (for IUI but I'm considering a possible convert to IVF).
Re: Convert from IUI to IVF?
Thank you. My RE had to run off to a surgery so she couldn't personally call me. The nurse that called me said she didn't think it would be possible (for reasons I'm not sure of. something about the lab being full I think) Hopefully my RE can call me later today. She said she does want me to think about it and to set up a consult with her to discuss more details of IVF.
I really never thought it'd come to this. My sister has PCOS and got pregnant from her first IUI. Ugh.
Official diagnosis: Unexplained IF. I am 32. I have low ovarian reserve (low AMH), and poor egg quality. I've also been diagnosed with mild glandular developmental arrest (lining problems, detected with EFT).
We are using open ID donor sperm. IUIs #1-7=BFN. IVF September 2014 antagonist protocol, 8R,5M,3F, 5 day transfer of 1 morula = BFN. IVF#2 planned for January 2015 (antagonist protocol + HGH).
Well we have to officially cancel this cycle (again
) She said we are too far along and if we were going to convert, it would've been a few days ago.
We have an IVF training we have to go to on Thursday from 8:30-1. So I guess we will just be doing everything right from the start. Hopefully that'll do the trick.
Thanks everyone for all the help/comments.
