TTC After a Loss

Short intro

Hi ladies. I figured I would intro here and start participating instead of lurking.

A week ago I started spotting and having cramping/back pain. Fast fwd to Tues I ended up in the ER because the pain and spotting was getting worse and an ultrasound confirmed everything was okay, healthy baby but I had a subchorionic hemorrhage. I took it easy the next 2 days as the pain got worse.. and on that Thursday I started passing clots. Originally I was happy, I assumed i was expelling part of the sch and the pain eased after I did. Of course the next morning it was back and by noon when I stood I felt pressure and started severely bleeding and passing everything. Back to the ER and miscarriage was confirmed. My ob came in and did my d&c that night.

So it's been 2 days. I'm emotionally traumatized as this was my first bfp in 5 years since I was diagnosed with has Hashimotos hypothyroidism. I was also diagnosed in November with PCOS, 7 days before my miracle bfp. We were set to start clomid when I ended up pregnant and now I feel completely lost. I'm horrified it will take years, I'm horrified at all the aspects. I do look forward to gaining knowledge here with you guys and getting guidance when I come off the bench.

Sorry for the novel, this is the first time I've actually typed this out since Friday. Today my emotions have been so raw, so I'm probably rambling. Good news is I don't have to face anyone for at least one more day.

On a side note, could you remove
the loss mentioned warning in your title? We are a loss board and full expect to read about losses. I only ask because if others looking to intro see it, they might assume it's necessary and it's not. Thanks :)

I am not sure how to say this without getting a "solicitation" warning so I guess I just say that I am not longer active on THIS site.

  • I am so sorry for your loss. Welcome to the board. With your history, are you with an RE? If not, I strongly suggest you have a consult before starting down the 'Clomid with an OB' road. Regardless, do not accept Clomid without it being properly monitored with blood work and U/S throughout the cycle.

I am not. November was the first time I had set out for answers. Before then I had been finishing nursing school and "letting what happened happen". Of course it didn't take long to realize I wasn't ovulating and I blamed my thyroid for many of the years until I found my ob. I honestly do not know where we are going from here, I'll know more when I follow up.
