High-Risk Pregnancy

calling all pPROM ladies...

I introduced myself about 2 weeks ago expressing how in the dark I was about my loss 5 years ago. Some of you may remember, may not. Anyhow, went to MFM and he says it sounds like I suffered from pPROM, so this time around I am getting frequent scans and booty shots (progesterone, lol).  Just looking for insight on what to expect from yall's experience, I feel much better and more educated on the subject after talking with dr..and am meeting with new OB Friday and will of course address my concerns and more questions then. Just nice to hear from other ladies in the same boat!!

CONCERNS: Sex? Progesterone Side Effects? Exercise? Work? I stand 8 hours a day, only sit for lunch. Im half expecting MFM to tell me to be on pelvic rest and transfer departments (been trying to do that anyways since I was hired!)

Re: calling all pPROM ladies...

  • I PPROMed at 19w last year.  This pregnancy I had weekly cervical checks starting at 15w up to 27w.  I have also been getting weekly 17P injections since right around 16w.  I work somewhere that I am on my feet 8 hours a day and it hasn't been an issue to date and I am currently almost 34w pregnant.  The only side effect I noticed with the 17P is an itchy butt and occasionally a sore spot for a day or so after the injection (make sure they rotate checks).  Good luck with a healthy 9months.
