Are there any family names you like (either of the grandmother's names, for example?)

Not knowing anything about your last name, with the three syllable first name I prefer single syllable middle names:
    June
    Mae
    Anne
    Ruth
    Faye
    Lynn
    Rose

Also, I know you didn't ask and it's your baby but I'm going to throw out there that I prefer Eliza over Aliza.

ETA: It's two syllables but I really like PP's suggestion of Noelle

  • I'm spelling it as Aliza please don't tell me how to correctly spell my daughters name At first that is how I spelled it with an E but I decided an A would be better. No disrespect as to how you would pronounce and spell it but other than that I do appreciate your reply and the suggestions that you have offered there pretty helpful. So thank you for that. Thanks to all that replied to my post with helpful suggestions !!

  • An no I didn't intend to be mean with my reply at all.
  • Why not go all out and make it Alyza?

FWIW I really love Aliza but pronounced the correct way, and Eliza is a beautiful name
  • Eliza Jane. Eliza Nicole. Eliza jade. Eliza Genevieve.
  • Eliza is such a great choice! I really agree that you should reconsider your spelling, the A makes it a different name altogether and it will be annoying for her to constantly have to correct people and explain. .

    Eliza June
    Eliza Brynn
    Eliza Claire
    Eliza Grey
    Eliza Wren
  • I will be using this name too! Mostly because some people say Ee-lie-za for Eliza and that sounds too much like Elijah to me. And I love the symmetry of Aliza. Don't listen to the other naysayers. I've known or know of 4 Aliza's (two are babies) and all are pronounced Uh-lie-za. Only one of them is jewish, and she still didn't have the traditional Hebrew pronunciation (uh-lee-za). The two adults with this name love their name like this and have said it's worth "the random jewish receptionist pronouncing it the other way." And everyone I've polled in my life on how to pronounce it when I spell it out, (without me saying it first of course) says it the way I want it said. So if someone wants the "uh-lee-za" pronunciation, there will be some correcting there as well. I predict more so. My cousin hates when people call her Ee-lizabeth instead of Uh-lizabeth, so it's going to happen with a lot of names. As for middle names, I like one syllable names with it like Joy, Rae, Mae, and June. Good luck!
  • Aliza Lorraine
    Aliza Jillian
    Aliza Charlotte
    Aliza Michele
    Aliza Rosalie
    Aliza Frances
    Aliza Noelle
    Aliza Annalise
    Aliza Faye
    Aliza Celeste
    Aliza Josephine
    Aliza Dawn
    Aliza Eden
    Aliza Emmeline
    Aliza Lillian
    Aliza Juliet
    Aliza Violet
    Aliza Cosette
    Aliza Elisabeth
    Aliza Isabelle
    Aliza Helene
    Aliza Jane
  • I wanted DD2 to be Eliza June.
Another plea to please spell it Eliza. IMO, Aliza looks ugly.

  • I would not pronounce Aliza the way you want it pronounced. You would have to correct me when I read her name. Just imagine it being mispronounced at assemblies, graduations, or by teachers etc. Sorry if that hurts your feelings but it's the truth. People aren't trying to be rude or hurtful. This board has some smart ladies who are really good at helping to provide educated answers and information. Sometimes it isn't what we want to hear but it's truthful and factual.

  • OP, you've inspired me! I'm going to name my daughter Joan (pronounced Joh-An) or maybe Jan (pronounced Jehn). WDYT?! :-bd

I agree with the others on this one. Eliza and Aliza are different names all together. Sure, you can spell Eliza as Aliza, but please be aware that this is only going to make people think that you can't spell. Your daughter is going to have to constantly correct people about her spelling/pronunciation, but it is you who will be giving yourself the appearance of being uneducated.
I can't love this response enough
  • Eliza Renee, Fern, Grace, Joan, May, Neve, Pearl (Eliza Pearl sounds so cute!), Wren
  • I love Eliza Jane! Eliza (eh-LIE-zah) is one of the 57 billion nicknames for Elizabeth - one that I think stands alone very well.

I also love the name Aliza (uh-LEE-zah) but DH vetoed it.

Each of these is lovely! I'll add Ann, Claire, Joy, and Maeve.
  • Another vote for spelling it Eliza, which is a great name.   Eliza Joy, Eliza Jane, Eliza Pearl.
  • I think Emma would be a nice mm
  • It looks like the drink, Alize. And I'm not just saying that because I'm intoxicated after being forced to watch football.
