Toddler having brain surgery in a few days

My almost 3 year old had a lesion appear on his MRI scan that we have done every 6 months to follow another mass that he was born with that is behind his eye. Since spotting the pea-sized lesion, it hasn't grown. Since they don't know what it is, Dr.Wellons at Vanderbilt is going to remove/biopsy it. Anyone have any experiences with this doctor or with brain surgery? Prayers are very much needed. Thank you!
