Trouble TTC

Clomid and ov early?

I am new on these boards
I just had a quick clomid question.
Dr said I would probably ovulate 1-2 later than normal. This is my first month on clomid and my first month using the "expensive OPK" clear blue monitor instead of cheap strips.
So I have a 32 day cycle Oing around 18-19 usually get a positive LH on strip around day 17-18 on the months I get a positives.
So took clomid day 3-7 now day 11 I have flashing smiley. It's early, really early. Is this concerning? Should I call dr Monday am? Or just go with it and BD away.
Anyone have clomid change ovulation to earlier in cycle?

Or could it be picking up on the clomid still?

Re: Clomid and ov early?

  • If you are taking clomid you should be having regular ultrasounds and your RE will tell you when to have sex. Clomid can do some serious damage to your reproductive health and can also cause you to over respond and have high order multiples. Are you being monitored?

  • She did an US before I started and felt my ovaries, then told me to come back on day 16, I usually ovulate around 19. She didn't say anything else so idk what her plan was for that appt.
I am only seeing an OB she said she'd refer after 3 months. I do have a blocked tube and tend to ovulate on my right side instead of alternating so did 50 mg trying to get left to ovulate.

From my other board I am getting the idea this is not enough monitoring :-)
Everyone is saying the same thing.
  • Well, sounds like you know what you need to do...get in for monitoring on CD10 to make sure you don't have too many follies with a risk for higher order multiples, or too thin lining making it hard/impossible to implant, or only follies on the left so you can know the cycle didn't "count" if it's a BFN. I'd just move to the RE, no reason to mess around with unmonitored Clomid. :) And if the doctor who's helping you doesn't even realize that OPKs can't be relied upon in the least when you're taking Clomid, then that doctor should not be helping you with this treatment.
