Does anyone else's kid scream bloody murder while getting haircuts? Even if we're holding him, we try lollipops, YouTube videos to distract but it doesn't work. Today's haircut was the worst yet. :-S
@skleigh : both kids act like they are being set ablaze when getting their hair trimmed. Very dramatic crying & fussing. :-??
@ramy3 I prefer Freya. That said, my grandmother's name was Violet and she had sisters named Viola and Lily (as well as non-florally named sisters lol) and I never found it odd.
@andrea0418 this may be an UO, but I think it is very appropriate to take your H's opinion seriously regarding BF. That's marriage, to me. Ultimately, it's your body your choice. But I think it's also your responsibility to prove to your H why extended BF is the right thing to do. @Cfreymc suggested some great articles. Perhaps you should also insist he accompany you to the 18m appt. If he isn't willing to discuss the topic and just wants you to quit b/c he wants you to quit, that sucks donkey dick.
I was 100% open to the conversation when he brought it up months ago but he had no valid points or explanation as to why it would be weird after 18 months. He hasn't said anything negative or questioned me lately but I assume it will happen soon. I'll have the articles ready but I need more than "it's weird."
@andrea0418 I'm going to add that if your H wants a leg to stand on in this discussion that he needs to go to the 18 month appointment and at least hear the pedi out. I agree you definitely need more than him just feeling weirded out.

This evenings pregnancy craving consisted of wanting rice and pasta - so I just ate a whole box of rice-a-roni. And now I want to puke. Totally unrelated to anything going on in this thread right now lol.

Got to ILs, had awkward conversations about "emotionally disturbed" children, I got the shits..... Clogged the toilet..... Had to ask for a plunger because one wasn't in the bathroom. Then had to wait a long 5 minutes while mil found it and then had to unclog the toilet.
I'm still kind of sad we never got to use our girl name: Elinor Mae and call her Ellie Mae
I like Like Cordelia but would have to pick Freya.
@beckyanddon Elinor (or Eleanor) "Ellie" is our #1 if we get preggers and its a girl. I love Mae but its also my niece's middle name. We also like Jane, but that's my moms name and, no.

Last family christmas is complete and I had a chocolate pb concrete from Culver's to recover. My mom is so rude and I have such a hard time being around her as it brings up so much from the past. At least it is done and over with. Tomorrow is a new day

Elinor is my favorite spelling too :x are you a Jane Austen fan?

@N0702 : dude, kids are weird. Could be that just disturbing her routine made her flip. It likely has nothing to do with them as people. They don't need to make it personal. :-??
@stacey099 : hugs! Enjoy your concrete mixer! Family stuff can be intense.
@ramy3, I absolutely love Penelope, nn Poppy! And Aurelia is one of my favorites! I tried to convince H to consider Aurora Nn Rory, but he wouldn't, which is probably just as well, because that would be a lot of Rs with my last name.
I like Freya Imogen. I have a very sad association with Freya, so it is hard to picture it on anybody else, because that's the only time I've heard Freya. But I much prefer it to Flora.
My H doesn't understand that Addie has a huge toddler belly and short arms. Most days, I dress her in a dress or tunic, because long sleeve t-shirts never cover her belly. So, he doesn't see why she is going to need a new jacket for spring. Her one for fall is still plenty long in the sleeves. Yea it is, but it looks like a crop top.
He is home! Order is slowly being restored. I got a solo trip to the grocery store this afternoon...ahhh. Our dead pine tree is finally on the curb and needles swept up. I could hear S giggling exuberantly playing with daddy while I made dinner. Tomorrow's dinner is made and in the fridge. Three loads of laundry complete.
@collers4 I know the first meet up was far since the babies were tiny, but do you want to join the meet up this wed? Don't know if you are feeling up to it...but you are a SoCal mama!
ETA I am on team yay rain!
Thank you so much for the invite!! I work in the Santa Paula area all day Wednesday otherwise I'd love to. I usually have Friday's off if you ladies plan another one.
@andrea0418 Breastfeeding a toddler is not weird. Breastfeeding a preschooler is not weird. Breastfeeding a young child is not weird.
Sorry. This is my hill to die on. Bewbs 4 lyfe!
I hope I can join you here some day. AlreaDy battling the MIL who thinks NIP is comparable to farting in a highly-public situation. Sheay have been Present for my first pumping sessions, but she's going to have to get used to a whole lot more of my boobs if I have #2....
FKA mimi4347: diaper rash magician and unofficial expert on excrement
This kid may not have a lot of bowel, but he has plenty of guts! DS born at 34 weeks with (surprise!) gastroschisis turned short bowel syndrome. 131 days in the NICU, 7 trips to the OR, G-button, daily TPN....
We are impatiently awaiting the day we can say goodbye to his girlfriend Ivy for good.
