He just told me tonight that he hasn't had a cigarette since Saturday morning! He never smokes in the house or even the garage nor around DD and I or in our vehicles but I am still so happy to hear that he is trying to quit. He has been at it for 12 years!!!  I am sooooo happy!! yay!

That is great. DH only smokes when he drinks and is really trying to change that. I have never been a smoker so I don't really know how hard it would be, but living with someone who struggles with smoking I can say it is great to make it a few days. I hope he can give it up.

thats awesome! good for him, my dh had the hardest time trying to quit, he chewed nicorette gum like crazy and even with that he was really cranky..  he finally got rid of the cigarettes but gained a few pounds..

a colleague got this neat fake cig that you actually "smoke" .. it provides a tiny, tiny bit of nicotine (like the gum), makes you feel like you're smoking (b/c you suck in steam.. even blows out the steam when she uses it)... and you go through that motion. She's been using it for a couple of weeks and notices a huge difference. She only went out for a smoke twice the other night (12hr shift) ... hard to do when you're up all night, and it's a slow night!

That's great!  Do you think he can talk to my DH about it?!?  Seriously, I would give anything if my DH would stop.  He never smokes around me or DD and rarely smokes at home (only outside).  I still hate it though and wish he would quit.

Yeah for him!! There was a huge story about "thirdhand smoke" (smoke that's on your clothing, in your carpets/cars) on the news yesterday and how bad it is for your kids and people with lung disorders. keep up the good work!!
