let's talk steam mops

So as we get closer to our little ones crawling around on the floor I've been thinking about steam mops or hardwood floor cleaners. I used to have a simple shark steam mop and loved it but it broke. My floor gets so dirty and the swiffer just doesn't get it clean enough.
So what do you all use? Any recommendations on steam mops or hard wood floor cleaners?

It gets the job done.

We have this one too. I think it's great for if u can use it daily. It doesn't replace the ol' mop.

We have a Haan. It does a good job and I like that it doesn't use chemicals. I don't know if it's the same for all the Haan mops, but I wish the cord was longer and it didn't take quite so long to warm up, but other than that I really like it.

It has a setting for dusting/hardwood and a setting for mopping/tile.  It doesn't do a great job of getting sticky stuff up (like dried up jam), but I feel like it does a good enough job to replace mopping entirely for me.  I hate mopping. I love to use the steam mop, though!  I like that it has two sides to the pad, so I mop it once for cleanliness, then I flip it over to 'sanitize' to floor.

We have a bissel and like it way more than the shark we had tht broke (we did like the shark but realized after it was broken that there are better options out there)! We have two dogs and a cat and we love using this on our laminate and tile floors. We have exclusively been using distilled water with the bissel as I'm convinced it was our hard water that lead to the death of our shark model.

I'm convinced the hard water lead to the death of our shark too. Do you have the bissell powerfresh? I was thinking of getting that one.
@pinkie78 we have tile and fake hard wood. We don't have any rugs should we get some? There is carpet in the bedrooms.
