Max passed away this afternoon.

Today I held my son for the very first and very last time. Max 's fight ended today at 1:05 pm. He passed away in my arms as I rocked him to sleep.

Max had a very bad night last night and his stats were low. This mornings blood work showed he had worsened but since the oscillator was maxed out there was nothing we could do. Having reduced oxygen for as long as he did would have made recovery impossible. We made the decision to take him off life support rather than force him to stay with us. When I saw him today I knew we made the right decision.

We had almost two weeks with Max which is more than the doctors ever thought was possible. I am beyond grateful for every moment we had with him and every extra borrowed day.

We love you Max and you will forever be in the hearts of so, so many.
