New here ( Ttc after 16 years)

in TTC after 35
I am 41 and my husband is 36. We have been married for a little over a year to the love of my life. I have 3 children 16, 17, 20 and he has 2 children 14 and 17. We really want a child together and have been trying for a year. The only thing I have tried is fertilaid and that was for a month and stopped because I missed a period and am now 4 weeks late but started spotting today. I know it can be a long process but we are praying and hoping.

    HSG 9/18/14 = Tubes open but T shaped uterus
    IUI #1... 1/6/2015 + 50mg Clomid = BFN

    Fertilaid and other supposedly magic fertility supplements can severely mess up your hormones and cycles - I've actually heard many women on these boards share stories of Fertilaid doing just that, making their cycles wonky, longer, or pretty much non-existent, as you experienced with a doubly long cycle. Please don't mess with your body by taking something the internet recommended.

    I'd strongly recommend getting an account with Fertility Friend and, even if you're not ready to temp/chart yet, doing the tutorials there, there's so much you can learn about your body and cycles there.  Such as the fact that a woman never 'misses' or 'skips' a period, she can just ovulate later or not at all and have a longer cycle.  Welcome to the board, and good luck.

    Welcome!  I suggest you look into charting your bbt with help from fertility friend.  You cannot be 4 weeks late, you just don't know when you O'd.   Read  Taking Charge Of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler .  Best wishes and from one who did the older kids and baby again it is wonderful... so much so we'd love it again.

    I have never paid attention to the BBT but I will check into it. AF still has not come around so I have made a Dr aoot. I have spotted for about 4 days now not sure what's going on. Thanks so much!
