A pail at home but a hanging wet bag when traveling.
If I had my druthers, I'd have gone with a large hanging wetbag instead of the pail. My toddler tends to toss toys in the pail, and if I could hang it up instead, that would be helpful.
I love our hanging wet bags! We have one hanging in LO's room on a hook and one hanging on the bathroom door for diapers that need spraying. Very easy, and we can use the same ones when we travel. I highly recommend the Planet Wise wet/dry bags vs. just the large wet bag, even though I don't use the wet/dry feature - the handles are much nicer for hanging on a doorknob and the bag stays upright instead of tilted. Plus, it's bigger.
I use a pail in L's room bc I don't have a good place to hang a bag within easy reach of the dresser. I use a bag downstairs on the PnP that we use for changes bc there is not much floor space in there. Both options work well; consider your room layout and that helps determine what makes the most sense.
I use a medium sized wetbag during the day and then I toss them into a pail with a liner at the end of the day. Our laundry is downstairs and especially now that E is mobile I don't want to be running down there at every change.
I have a pail and liner because I have no place to hang a wet bag. We tried hanging a wet bag from the bathroom door knob when we were using the bathroom counter for changing table (worked great until ds grew too long for the counter) but it interfered with the door too much due to the layout of the bathroom.

I love both options but need an extra of each
