Keurig help!

Our keurig is one of the older models, I believe it was from 2011. Now the small cup has stopped working and we can only choose the large cup. The large cup is brewing even less than the small cup used to. Safe to say its time to retire this machine.

Now I'm looking for a new keurig! We use it daily/EOD for either coffee or just boiling water for tea. Should I look into a mini or another full size? We have a fairly small kitchen so small would be nice, but we've lived with full size this long so it makes no difference. Does the mini work as well as the regular? I would love to spend as little money as possible, but still a good quality product.

Re: Keurig help!

  • I have the orange mini and it works just fine. I'm the only one who drinks coffee on a regular basis, but my DS lives making hot coco in it. The only issue I have ran into is on Christmas morning when I had to make multiple cups in a row. I felt like it took forever. I do think I will buy a super super cheap old school pot for next year.

Also it largest size it makes is 10oz

  • We have an actual coffee maker for when we have company :) do you have to fill the mini for every cup or does it have a water reserve on the side like the larger model? I like that we can make several cups before refilling it, but it's not a huge concern since we don't use it often.

  • I had the mini. It died about 6 months ago. I had it about 3 years. I found filling it every time annoying, since the point of the keurig, for me, was convenience.
  • Debbie downer alert.....

I read something about these haboring bacteria....may not be true but you might check it out before buying another one....though I guess all coffee pots could technically

We are so thankful that our second daughter, Lillian Elizabeth "Lily", was born healthy and happy on February 11, 2013.  We love her to pieces.

We lost our first daughter, Hannah Grace on May 4, 2011.  She was buried on May 14 during a beautiful service at my home church. We are grateful that if she could not be here with us, that she is healed and whole with the Lord. We look forward to the day when we will get to meet her. We love her so much.

We run vinegar through it periodically and clean whatever parts we can get to. I'm sure it's not super clean, but we have yet to get sick from it :) I'll have to look into other ways to clean it out a bit better.

  • My mini stopped working and my mom gave me a full size for Christmas last year. Love it so much more! Go full size.

I'm impressed that you got that many years!

  • When my Keurig broke, I called their customer service line and asked about repairs - turns out they don't repair them BUT they sold me a brand new $150 model for $99. No questions asked, just "what's your address and CC#?" I'd call them first!
