Airborne

The search engine is not being very helpful. Sorry if this has been discussed before. I'm starting to feel a cold coming on and was about to take Airborne when I read it says not to take if you're breastfeeding without consulting a physician. Dr Google gave me mixed reviews. Have any of your doctors given you information on this or have you taken it while BF?

Re: Airborne

  • There's little to no research on the ingredients in it, and unfortunately there doesn't have to be since it's herbal.  Any research would be on the ingredients alone, or perhaps in combinations of a few of them, and likely at varying doses.  I would consult your doc, but there isn't much data for them to stand by or cite, so it ends up being a personal choice.

  • I think I remember reading at some point that Emergen-C is ok when nursing. Don't take my word on it though. I've had luck with taking that in the past to help with an oncoming cold.

  • Airborne is NOT recommended for nursing mothers. Emergen-C is fine.
