We are not in the process of adoption, but my husband and I have been considering it. We have talked to our local Department of Family and Children Services and got a little bit of information. When discussing what we might want to do my husband was concerned the during the home study we would not be pass because of finances. We both of full time jobs that pay fairly well but I am in debt due to loans for college. We also have a mortgage and car payments and some credit card bills from when I was in college.
So, I was hoping to get some feedback on your experiences concerning this. Should we be worried?
What Dr. Loretta said. We are by no means wealthy, but we just had to show that we were financially stable and all of our debt accounts were in good standing.
Re: Home Study: Turned down because of finances?
You can always run your concerns by someone at the agency. But as long as you have a reasonable debt to income ratio, you should be fine.
