My first CD was Beethoven's 5th symphony.  CDs were more expensive than cassettes and I only bought classical music on CD in the beginning.

My first cassette was something kid related.  I was 5 or 6 when I got a tape recorder.

Lol glorious isn't it? I wanted short hair and my mom apparently wasn't ready to let me chop it off completely, so she thought it would be appropriate to leave the back longer.

Samesies. By third or fourth grade it was completely cut short (like the mullet photo but without the long back) and I clearly wasn't wearing dresses or pink sparkles. I got mistaken for a boy all the time.

BTW, Kelly, I wasn't loving the tears and memories of the Challenger. I was loving watching it at school but my story gets creepy because one of our teachers was a finalist to go into space but then broke his leg. So he was sitting there in a wheelchair and full leg cast watching it with all of us...

Writing my 10 page term paper for junior year English class on a computer my dad built in our basement and then having to separate the pages and remove the side pieces........making crafts from the computer punch cards......going to the library to do school work because we didn't have encyclopedias and other books at home.......buying my daughter Polly Pockets and beanie babies......recording songs off the radio onto my cassette tapes by actually hitting the record button as fast as I could when a good song came on the radio.....having to learn DOS prompts to be able to use a computer.....when the internet consisted of "bulletin boards" and you had to know the number for the BB you wanted to access to call it with your modem.

When modem speeds were in bytes per second......and an 86 computer was top of the line......the 5 1/4 floppy drives and the 3.5 floppy drives.....using a manual typewriter and an electric one and then being ecstatic that the electronic one I got for graduation could store a paper in memory but I had to print it out to proof read said paper and the viewing area was only a few characters wide.

Ahhhhh fundraiser prizes.  I wanted a pair of mirrored sunglasses with paint splatters on the lenses.  They were the coolest.  What I actually got was a lame poster of a teddy bear riding a motorcycle that said "Born to Ride."  LMAO.  Haven't thought about that in forever.

Us too!  Watched it in the theaters and then watched it this summer.  I think I've matured.  I didn't find it as funny as I originally did.

I loved Oregon Trail and Carmen Sandiego. I was horrible at both but it didn't stop me from playing them.

OMG Carmen Sandiago!  The actress who played her on the kids show was on something we watched the other day.  MH and I had super flashbacks.  It was awesome, I loved Carmen Sandiago.

How about the Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego game show?! I totally loved this show, and those kids always sucked at putting the markers on the correct countries at the end.
