February 2013 Moms

I am so bored...

In November the snow stays to fly, piling up, ankle high. In December is up to your knees...

It's been snowing for 4 days, and we only have a couple inches, but it is so dangerously cold, I haven't taken the kids out hardly anywhere in over a week! Today, I convinced DH that taking DD1 to the grocery store was school (I taught her how to use a calculator, and she tallied all our grocery costs as we went! We were only of like 30 cents, but that could have been me telling her a wrong price, too.). Right now it's snowing so hard, I creamy see across my street.

So my kids are crabby and stir crazy, and I am bored. Anyone else?

Bonus if anyone knows that song!

  • Also, looking for more treatments or things to do to kill the static from my hair! I've changed my shampoo/conditioner, done a hot oil treatment, used leave-in oil, a static detangler, used hair spray, nothing is helping. I'm ready to shave my head bald!!!!!

  • Loading the player...
  • I don't use dryer sheets, just fabric softener.

  • I know, but I don't have any.

But I just found a liquid spray on Pinterest that uses liquid fabric softener! Going to give that a try.

  • Tonight DD and I went grocery shopping. It was the first time we'd been out of the house in 3 days. Normally I don't mind winter but I do not like these bitter cold temps. I really hope this isn't going to end up like last winter when it was in the teens-twenties with even lower wind chills every single day! If we have to stay inside all day everyday I'll go nuts.

  • We've been hitting -30's to -40's, with the windchill we hit -60 the other day. Plus about 3ft of snow on the ground. We're all sick, I'm miserable and pregnant, DH is miserable, and DS is his usual happy self but really wants out of the house. It can be June any time now so we'll be done with the cold/snow for a couple months.

  • @wineandcake‌ those temperatures just scare me. I would never leave the house.

  • I don't know how you're doing it @tamarar5‌. We have planned activities 4-5 days a week. I would have most definitely lost my entire mind by now otherwise.

  • By the way, so far, loving the liquid fabric softener spray! No flyways today.

  • Do you have a lot of clutter/places that need to be organized?  Being trapped inside can be a good time to work on those kinds of things.  Even organizing one drawer can help your mood....well if you are nuts like me :)

We are so thankful that our second daughter, Lillian Elizabeth "Lily", was born healthy and happy on February 11, 2013.  We love her to pieces.

We lost our first daughter, Hannah Grace on May 4, 2011.  She was buried on May 14 during a beautiful service at my home church. We are grateful that if she could not be here with us, that she is healed and whole with the Lord. We look forward to the day when we will get to meet her. We love her so much.
