Has anyone gone through the midwifes? What did you like/ dislike

This is my second child. My first I had to be induced and didn't go through the midwives and I wish I had done it. I'm due mid September and just made my first appointment at about 11 weeks the receptionist said I wouldn't have an ultrasound. I'm curious as to when you had your first midwife exam?...for some reason it makes it more real for me. I don't think I can wait for 20 weeks! I mean what if it was twins or it had something wrong with bubs. We would love it either way! Just would be better prepared.
