2nd Trimester

I swear!

If I dribble pee on myself one more time tonight while coughing/laughing/sneezing/etc. (even after just emptying my bladder) I'm going to punch my husband in his handsome fucking face for getting me pregnant. I'm 25 goddamn years old! 25! This shit isn't supposed to happen until after you actually give birth! Hormonal rage/rant over.

  • I agree with @taahira - pantie liners. keep in mind that the muscles and ligaments are going to be more relaxed (courtesy of relaxin produced during pregnancy) so things may not be as they were.

This is actually more normal than you think - there are just a lot of things about pregnancy that people do not necessarily talk about as they are not part of the 'beauty of pregnancy'

  • I pee myself and I'm 26! Welcome to pregnancy!

  • I guess I've just always heard women talking about how it happens after you give birth. So I didn't really expect it to happen until then. I've been sick since the day before NYE sneezing and hacking constantly, so I've been going through panty liners like crazy! Two days ago I even had to change my pants! It's so frustrating. Anyone have tips to help remember to do pelvic floor exercises? I usually only remember to do them in the bathtub for some reason.
  • Set an alarm on your phone?  Red lights?  I'm not sure how far into this pregnancy you are but being that it's 2nd tri I think you have a lot more peeing yourself and pant changing to do.  If you keep up with your kegels you should feel better a few months postpartum.

What makes you think it isn't supposed to happen while pregnant?  I do not know a single pregnant person who has not peed themselves.  Even at 25.

FWIW, I am pregnant with #2 and never once during my last pregnancy and so far with this, ever peed my pants. Never had it happen after, either. With that said, I am knocking on wood right now because I don't believe for a minute it can't happen ;)
  • happened to me last night during a sneeze. OY...here's hoping it won't be to often.

  • There's a wee person inside you.  Sometimes they like to hang out on your bladder.  I've been doing kegels since I was 14 and it still happened to me.
  • Look up the app KEGEL AEROBICS on your phone it's free and when I do them Consistently I can tell a difference. I'm only 28 and def pee everytime I sneeze. Save the vag and pelvic floor..do kegels! ;-)

I want to know how you even knew what kegels were at 14. I didn't discover them 'til in my 20s, and while reading a Cosmo mag.
@BubblesMartin  "Our Bodies, Ourselves" from my local library.  And my mom brought a copy of a Woman's Medical Encyclopedia.  She wanted me to know all the things and not be misinformed or influenced by my under informed friends.

I legit knew a kid in the 5th grade who swore with the confidence of an OB/GYN that babies came out of women's belly buttons.  I laughed at him so hard I almost choked on my diced peaches.

I've never had this issue at any point during my pregnancies and this is baby #5 .

OP - I'm not sure why some have these issues and some don't. Just get done panty liners... If it makes you feel better make hubby wear them too . lol
  • Start those kegels now lady!!
That is "use it or lose it" muscle. I agree with the others, liners are a life saver. Also, tighten those muscles when you are coughing/sneezing/laughing, so it becomes a habit. Trust me, if this is a problem now, it's not going away anytime soon, So learn to laugh about it, because it a part of life now :)
  • Kegals kegals kegals
  • You're not alone. I choked on a grapefruit this morning and while trying to cough it up, I of course peed myself. That was quite the dilemna....stop choking or run to the bathroom....not my most graceful moment during pregnancy!
  • Just want to announce that I haven't peed my pants in almost a week! I had a really bad case of bronchitis for two or three weeks and every single time I coughed (which was constantly) I was having to change. Well thank goodness that's over with because since I've been feeling better I haven't peed my pants once! WOOHOO!
  • Puking made me empty a full bladder ever damn time. Pantiliners didn't save my dignity. It was bad enough that I wanted some depends in case I puked outside of my home!
  • My SO has started to be amused by my sudden leaving during funny tv programs. He knows why. And he tries to make funny comments to see how funny he has to be to trigger it. I do the kegels and they don't seem to help. Ah, well, can just hope it gets better after LO is here.
