Chronic endometritis?

Hi ladies!  I got a call from my RE this afternoon that has left my head spinning.  The results of my endometrial biopsy in December came in and were positive for "significant chronic endometritis" (not endometriosis).  I had no idea what it was until he explained but basically I have this non-symptomatic infection in my endometrium.  He doesn't know how long it's been there but the lab was able to say it wasn't a new onset infection.  He only did a biopsy because he was already doing a SIS and had just read this paper ("Chronic endometritis due to common bacteria is prevalent in women with recurrent miscarriage as confirmed by improved pregnancy outcome after antibiotic treatment").  The plan is to do a course of antibiotics when I get AF (should be sometime in the next couple of days) and that *should* knock out the infection.  I'm curious if anyone else here has any experience or a diagnosis of chronic endometritis?  Has your doctor indicated it has caused fertility issues for you?  This is the first time a test has ever showed anything for me.  Every thing else has always come back normal.  I know it's not a guarantee that this is the cause of our RPL but it's definitely set my head spinning since everything for half a year has been explained as poor egg quality with recommended treatment of IVF/PGD.  Anyway, thanks to all those listening to my ramble!

This is what my RE was hoping I had and that's why he put me on 4 weeks of doxy! My doc said it's definitely thought to be a cause of infertility. He was hoping that's where my fluid was from but my biopsy results were negative. I did the antibiotics anyway because many practices will put you on doxy anyway before IVF/FET as a precautionary measure. Obviously I have a bigger issues but the doxy did clear up my acne I've had for years.

Thanks ladies!  I'm glad your docs have heard of this too and looked for it @Pickles4Prez and @Frenchteachermama.  That makes me feel better!  I'll be doing a 7 day course of doxy 2x/day.  I hope it has the side effect of clearing up my acne too!

I don't have any advice, but I hope the antibiotic treatment is successful for you! ((hugs)) and thank you for sharing this info. I have RPL too, and I will be sure to ask my RE about this at my first appointment next week.
