Chaos Control: Vanity Challenge

How are the pantries and desks looking? Still good? (My desk is still a wreck, but it's a work in progress.) any new organizational ideas or goals for the new year? (I made myself a specific cleaning plan bc I kept putting some things on the back burner and never getting then done. It's hard but rewarding when I see the progress.)

This week's challenge is brought to you by the giant mess in my bathroom makeup drawer. Now that N is tall enough to reach it, I've got to reorganize and move out the allergy meds. I also haven't bought much makeup in over a year, so most of that needs replacing. I took a peek in MH's vanity drawer, and it's disgusting. His clippers get whiskers all over the drawer. Blech. Anyway, who is up for the challenge?

This is one area of my house that isn't totally appalling. Win!  I still need to organize my pantry, though.  Before I knock it down, that is.

I don't own much make up, nor do I wear it often. So I don't have much to organize. My jewelry is still a mess, and I'm not even gulping to attempt the desk. There are some things in the house i refuse to even try to clean up because it's DH's mess and I wouldn't even know what to do. FFWC: there's still a big box sit ting in the middle of our room from when we moved a year and a half ago. DH said he would unpack it because I had no idea what to do with anything in it.

I don't think there's enough stuff in there to be unorganized. Before we moved I couldn't stand the mess DH had made of the bathroom, so I organized it then. I took bins with lids, and stored medicines/first aid in one, hair accessories, extra toothbrushes/toothpaste/shampoo/etc. They all stack on top of each other, and are labeled. Bonus: it made it much easier to pack up the bathroom when we were moving. Unlike the kitchen. ....that was awful.

I don't have a vanity, but my bathroom storage area is out of control.

I must have been out of town for the desk challenge. My sewing desk is out of control, also!

Psh, I wish I had a vanity. I just use 70% of the space in the bathroom for all my make up. I need a battle station!

My bathroom is ridiculously small so there isn't a lot to worry about. I probably should clean out my makeup case and the cupboard in the bathroom of any stuff that is old but that's about all I would need to do at this point.

Desk is still looking good though!

Oh, man. Another unmanageable part of our house! Each of our bathrooms only has a shelf built over the toilet, and we have wall-mounted sinks that don't have room for much. A lot of my toiletries get stored in a drawer in the bedroom where I can't access them so of course they don't get used. Would love to improve this situation but I'm not really sure how.

Freezor, that sounds frustrating!! Would you be able to mount anything on the wall? I put up a shelf with mini storage cubes at our old house bc we had no storage. There are also some cute makeup organizers that hang up; maybe you could hang one on the back of the bathroom door? Or go dorm-style and put it all in a basket or train case that you store in your room when not in use.

I stole two cabinets from our desk area to use for bathroom stuff. Its right outside the bathroom. We have one tiny cabinet in the bathroom and a pedestal sink. Our bathroom is tiny!
