Re: Hump Day Spam

  • Still in bed, cold front blowing in today :( hopefully my MIL comes to help with the laundry today. I have a BPP scheduled at my OB today and have to call the repair shop to check on my car and then the insurance company to see if it's totaled :(
  • Loading the player...
  • It's so freaking cold here. Another day of -40 wind chills. Brrr.

2 Days of my Z-Pack and a chiro visit later and my sinuses still feel as though they may explode.

  • Happy birthday @holachicaaa‌ ! I hope the great surprises don't end with the fantastic snow day!
  • @michelle142‌ get well soon!! Strange that the z-pack hasn't kicked it yet for you. Can you/do you use a netti pot?

    Happy Birthday @holachicaaa‌!!

Hubby's school is cancelled due to the cold today--yay!!!!! Unfortunately for my poor homeschooled kids, we are still on. ;). Just waiting to hear about daycare.
  • @yesiknowwhatcausesthat with past sinus infections and Z-packs, usually it starts making a difference by the 3rd dose - which will be today at dinner time. So here's to hoping that I wake up tomorrow feeling like a brand new person! I've never used a netti pot, but I'm not opposed to the idea.

  • Ok, I know this sounds crazy and I know better than to borrow trouble but I can't seem to get this horrible thought out of my mind: I keep worrying that there is something wrong with my baby's legs. I tell myself that it is all in my head and that even if there is something wrong that I know how full life can be being differently abled bodied but it isn't making me worry any less. Ugh! I feel him punch and squirm regularly but I haven't felt him kick or move his legs for weeks (at least not that I can tell). I know cerebral palsy isn't inherited but I keep thinking he's going to have it. I wish I could get a third U/S to see that he can and does move his legs!

    I'm crazy.
  • @CogDis baby is probably hanging out all criss-cross-apple-sauce style in there. That's why you don't feel the kicks, space is limited in your ute. Totally normal.

  • @KristinMTBell‌ & @michelle142‌
You're both probably right. I'm going to go clean or organize something and worry about things I do have control over: like how to properly line a cedar chest.

Thank you! You made me remember that I can behave less like a crazy person! :-)
  • @CogDis, deep breaths girl! I'm sure he's doing okay in there! I know it's scary when you don't feel them, have you brought up your concerns to your dr? Just a thought, maybe they could help ease your mind.

@Holachicaaa, HBD! (Because, you know, ain't nobody got time to type all that out! ;) )

@AprilRose1, @KristenMTBell, @Krendel1990, thanks for your positive words! I'm really hoping that I can make it through the next few weeks... I'm with you all for sure, I need all the FMLA time I can get when she's here, I don't want to waste any time before that! I wish they'd let me work from home, I'd be MUCH happier if they would! It really pisses me off because I find that I keep wishing away my pregnancy and in essence my last few weeks of enjoying "the two of us"....

  • My maternity clothes are getting tight. LO is growing leaps and bounds apparently. I just can't bring myself to buy more maternity clothes 6 weeks away from my due date...

  • wirtlehm‌ : I'm right there with you. I don't have the energy. I got on the elevator with a lady this morning who said to half-asleep, bundled up me, "You don't look like you want to be at work today." I responded, "I'm 34 weeks pregnant. There aren't too many places I want to be." I can't go out until delivery time either.

    Hang in there!

  • @CogDis‌ baby is fine!! But if it makes you feel better yesterday I told the dr I was paranoid she was only about a pound. She reassured me she wasnt and estimated by feel that she was 4 1/2 lbs lol
  • Happy Birthday @holachicaaa

my energy is waning everyday and I dont feel as prepared for DS as I did for DD.  I need to remind myself as long as I have diapers, wipes, a place for sleep and some clothes, he'll be ok.

I cannot find a white dresser to buy!  Its really annoying me, I may just succumb to IKEA, which is where I bought his shelves....
  • @SquirrelsRWatching‌ I'm right there with you. My pants are starting to get a little tight, I try to stay in pajama pants now. Ha ha!

I'm 36+3 and I'm starting to freak out. It's becoming real, I'm going to be a mom! I've read books, took the baby classes, everything I could do to prepare but I still feel like I'm in over my head..I'm excited but I'm still feeling really anxious. I know everything will be fine, just needed to get it out
  • @DHarpster: Yep, as soon as I get home -- right into PJ pants. In fact, if I don't have to go anywhere, I live in my pajamas. I always thought I would be one of the pregnant ladies who are dressed to the nines everyday in their maternity wear, because I'm usually that way not pregnant (I love my statement necklaces and Mary Kay). Nope. Haven't worn makeup since I think week 10. In the morning, I put on a pair of maternity jeans and a long sleeve shirt from DH's side of the closet. Thankfully I can get away with that at work.

  • We're in the home stretch ladies. Hang in there.

I'm still laying on the couch being extremely lazy this morning. I need to be grocery shopping and headed to the post office but it's cold and I just don't want to. Maybe I'll muster up some energy here in a bit.

  • @holachicaaa‌ happy birthday!!
I got my blood work reports. Everything looks good. I suddenly realised today, we all are so close now. Wow!!
  • Happy birthday @holachicaaa‌ !!! Glad you got the day off, perfect birthday present:)

I'm getting my weekly NST done right now and my midwife just told me I need to drink way more water. She could tell from babies heart rate that I was dehydrated. Ah! I feel terrible:( I have really hated water in this pregnancy but I'm going to buck up and drink it all day. Bad mommy!

It's freezing here in Chicago, hope everyone is staying warm!

@misshart00, UH-OH hopefully it stays just a feeling!

My car update from yesterday: I called my uncle this morning to ask if I could borrow one of his cars (we only have one) since DH is off all week and could easily take my car to the shop if I had another car to get to work. He said I could borrow the car and then just called and said he's off work today and would take the car in for me :)... $65 I have a professional patch on my car and I won't be rumbling down the highway! I am so grateful to have such a wonderful family!

I think it will. He's freaking out though saying I'm acting like I did a few days before DD was born. I've told him several times that I've had no contractions today.

Awww, that's too cute! Wondering how my DH is going to act when the time gets closer for me (probably like this!)

  • So excited just got a call from BBB and my stroller finally came in.  We ordered it months ago and its been on backorder. Sounds kinda dumb but I was starting to worry I wouldn't get it in time. Anyone get the new Uppababy Vista 2015 yet? I'll be picking it up today and I haven't even seen it yet.  It's supposed to be totally different than the older one....

  • Hi ladies, hope all is well. My computer is still acting a fool, so I'm juggling devices and reading way more than posting.

We're gearing up for Sunday's girls' rugby launch and most of the national team will be there. I miss them and can't wait! DH leaves for Ottawa tomorrow and I'll be on my own until Sunday evening. I'm going to do some cooking, cleaning, and organizing while he's gone.

We've got an impromptu date night for a comedy show tonight.

  • @holachicaaa - Happy Birthday! <3

I had a meltdown this morning. I made brownies in my brand new casserole dish the other night. This morning I turned my stove on to heat some water for my morning tea. I smell something burning so I go back into the kitchen and noticed I had turned the wrong burner on. The burner in FRONT of the brownies was bright red and the brownie dish was smoking due to the brownies being burned. So I removed the dish from the stove and put it on the counter. I leave the room and 5 minutes later I heard glass explode. I go back into the kitchen and my brand new casserole dish is ALL OVER my kitchen. I'm was holding back tears, super upset. I text my DH and his response is, "way to go". So that sent me over the edge.

I feel guilty for breaking my Christmas present and I feel like a complete dumb-ass for almost burning my house down with the wrong burner. Not how I wanted to start my morning. :(:(

  • So I know babies need to stay in to 40+ weeks for optimal health but is there anything anyone believes in doing now to make labor and delivery go easier for when its the right time for labor? I mean things like doing hip opening stretches, yoga squats, birth ball, RRL tea etc? Anything STM+ swear by? Im 36 weeks today and by no means trying to evict baby early but if there are some good stretches/etc I could be doing to better prepare myself for labor (when its time) I'd love to hear!

I sat on an exercise ball daily throughout my whole pregnancy last time, and again this time. Supposedly it helps get baby in a good delivery position. If that's true or not, I have no clue, but DS practically flew right out.

  • Oh my goodness is DH hilarious! The dr said I'm 80% effaced already but I'm not dilated any. He's stressing out that I'll deliver any day now. My OB did say if my bp gets over 160 she will probably admit me to deliver. Goal is to make it to the week of 19th for this month so LO will be 37 weeks then.

@mom2xover2002, FX LO will stay in there until 37 weeks (even better if LO wants to stay longer)!

  • @MommyOfAMiracle‌ yikes that is scary. But don't blame yourself too much, just Google Pyrex and you'll see that there have been a ton of glass casserole explosions. A friend of mine used hers normally, had it in the oven and set it on the table to serve, but the temperature change caused it to explode. Luckily no one was hurt. I haven't been using glass dishes as much because it scares me!

    --stuck in a box--

Thank you. It was totally a Pyrex too! I'm seriously glad I wasn't in the kitchen when it happened, could have been a dangerous situation. I'm so happy to know I'm not alone! But still super bummed my dish is broken. :( Looks like I need to look into a replacement, that's not glass. Thank you for the heads up!

Sex is good. :) The prostaglandins in semen can help soften/ripen the cervix. Unless you are on pelvic rest, sex will not send you into labor. I am also a firm believer in perineal massage and you can be doing that already. I like rrl tea (I am drinking earth mama's third trimester tea). But I say it all with a caution of the best thing you can do is relax and enjoy the end. Calm, peaceful thoughts go a really long way!!
  • Our garbage can came home this morning at 5am...it went missing on monday after garbage day. I heard a noise this morning, went to check it out, and there it was rolling in the street in front of our house!

Baby is trying to escape today through the top of my belly.  I'm getting that ab separating pain which kinda hurts like a bitch. Ugh

The house (mostly the kitchen) is super trashed and I don't have the give-a-damn to clean it. That was my whole goal for the day! I'm still waiting for the nesting thing to kick in- I've got nothing washed and very little organized. :-SS Im sure I'll kick into high gear after my upcoming showers. (Yes, plural, family drama). Speaking of my shower, I am making a daddy diaper backpack for DH with a bunch of cute daddy bibs and pacifiers and whatnot. I ordered most of it from Amazon and UPS LOST the package. This is grounds for a crazy preggers meltdown.

Also- being a preschool teacher makes wanting to go to work VERY difficult. So much energy and patience needed...
