RE appointment & IUI Question

I had my 1st appointment today with the same RE that I went to when I got pregnant with my DD. I was pleasently surprised that they did an U/S today because I am on CD15 with 100mg of Clomid this month and I have 4 mature follicles. They gave me the ovidrel shot and I scheduled an appt tomorrow for an IUI. I will be just doing 1 IUI this month. The RE did tell me that they do 2 IUI's now each month, compared to 1 when I went a couple years ago.

Has anyone had any experience with this (2 IUI's vs. 1 IUI)?

Also, my OBGYN is very conservative and considers anything over 2 follicles as overstimulated, my RE did an IUI when I had 5 follicles with my daughter. What number of follicles does your RE consider you as "overstimulated"?

I've done a cycle with 1 IUI, and one with B2B IUIs, neither were successful. My clinic cancels anything over 4 mature but my last cycle I had 6 the only reason we proceeded was because 2 were on my left which has no tube anyway, so they were ok with proceeding with the 4 on the right.

I've read there is a slightly higher success rate with B2B IUIs.

I have only ever done one IUI per cycle but my RE does say to have TI the night of the IUI and the next morning. I feel like there was someone on this board that did have back to back IUI's though. Or maybe it was something I read while lurking on another board.

I have only ever had 2 follicles so we have never discussed what would happen if I was overstimmed.

I was told that it is standard at my RE office to do IUI's two days in a row. I've done it twice so far and ended up with one CP and a BFN. I can't speak to the follicles.

My RE always does two IUIs. He says research shows a slightly higher success rate doing two. As for the follicles- I had five with my last IUI and they let me proceed only because I had 3 failed IUIs before. Even with the 5 follicles I got a BFN.
