5 months-sudden strange behavior

DD had a rough start but we have been doing pretty great EBF for about four months now with the exception of continued use of a nipple shield. Four the past three weeks she's started feeding about 30% of the time shield free depending on her mood.

Anyways in the last few days she's started a strange behavior with or without the shield. Basically in the middle of each side she's been thrusting her face into my boob in and out for about 3 minutes. We've had our bouts of her yanking off but this pushing in is new and annoying.

Any thoughts or advice?

  • Babies are so funny. Sorry it's a bit painful/annoying. Chances are she'll find a new "thing" soon!

  • I never can figure out what babies are thinking.  Right now my 8 month old likes to stare at my nipple, then reach out and play with it, then latch on and eat.  Repeat x 10.
