I can't imagine! Hopefully you're able to see her soon and she improves quickly. My mom had a stroke a year and a half ago and it was so frightening, I completely get how nerve wracking it is. I'll keep your mom and you in my thoughts.
Oh no, T&P sent your way. It's so hard when a family member is sick and they're is nothing you can do to help. Hopefully she stays stable and makes a quick recovery.
I just got off the phone with my sister. She stepped up and is keeping on top of things.
We have 1/2 of the cardiac report back. There is damage to the left side of her heart, but that does not appear to need surgery at this point. The cardiologist will meet with my dad and sister sometime tomorrow to go over the rest. I am assuming that we have the worst of the news, and that the meeting is a formality.
Her brain scans showed a lesion on her brain which will be monitored but does not require additional treatment at this time either. All good news, I think!
The behavior episode might be the most confusing at this point, although she has not been combative today. The dr's suggested the possibility of perhaps a glimpse of Alzheimers or dimensha but was very careful to qualify the statement with it was really to early to tell.
Thank you for your prayers! You ladies are the best

I only ask because my coworker recently had a blood clot on his brain that passed (thankfully) but he lost short term memory for a day and was very combative (so unlike him).
Thank you for the question! I only spoke with her briefly, but I don't recall her repeating herself. I will certainly be mentioning this to my Dad though, as he will be following up with her neurologist ( I assume that's the best dr for that) tomorrow.
Another update today, this time a bit of a mixed bag. The meeting with the cardiologist apparently went very well, but the damage shown in Moms heart is consistent with signs of a previous heart attack in addition o this current episode. the good news is she is still with us, but we are confused as to when this may have happened, and will learn more about how to proceed when she follows up with her dr's.
She is hoping to be released tomorrow after a follow up screening, which means I may be able to finally set eyes on her in the morning sometime!
Thank you ladies, from the bottom of my heart for the good thoughts and checking in. This past few days has been a blur!

Hooray for good news! Glad she's doing okay and that she may be released soon. FX that the cardiologist figures out what's up and everything continues to go well.
Thanks for the update! Hoping your mom makes a speedy recovery ad that you get some answers on what lead to this episode. Take care of yourself, momma!
