I'm back, unfortunately. (loss mentioned)

Hey, ladies. After a (very) short stint on the pregnancy boards, I'm back here. This is the first time I've logged onto TB since early November.

Quick recap: Had a BFP after IUI #2 in October. Early November, we went in for my 6-week ultra sound to discover I had a MMC. Doc estimated the embryo stopped progressing around 4 weeks.

Physically, the miscarriage wasn't terrible. I had minimal cramping and the bleeding wasn't all that heavy. Emotionally, though, I was a mess. It didn't help that I kept having to go in for bloodwork week after week, until my levels were down. The whole process took a little bit longer than I expected. Finally, mid-December, I had a period, but it didn't feel like a "normal" period for me. I felt like it was all over the place... heavy bleeding one day, nothing the next, then light spotting for a few days. I decided to wait until this month to resume the IUI treatments, so now I'm waiting for AF. The short break was much needed, especially with the added stress of the holidays. While it was nice to not "think" about medications and appointments for a few weeks, I couldn't help but think that we were planning on telling our exciting news at Christmastime. I would have already been into the second trimester right around Christmas/New Years, so it's frustrating to know we are back to square one.

With the new year, I'm trying to remain positive and look forward to the year ahead. The good news is that the IUI itself worked, so we're hopeful for future treatments. I have the other half of my Bravelle just waiting for me, so come on, AF!
