When do you want to start trying for the next baby?

Now that the LOs are here and reality has fully sunk in (maybe)... when do you want to or plan to get pregnant again?

This. I hated pregnancy. The only thing that is even making me consider it is that Dh will be able to do a lot with Dd at that point and I can focus on LO if needed. Right now it's me me me on baby duty.

I hated pregnancy and this shit is still really difficult! But only child! I'm seriously hoping the 2nd one is cake because damn...I want to wait until I'm 30 for #2. That's about 2 years for those of you keeping track.

We're kind of going to let it come up naturally like it did when we decided to have this one. One day we'll just be ready. I picked when LO is 2 because I think that's a good age difference.

So done. I'm getting mirena. This is our 3rd boy- 7, 4, and 9 weeks. There was a big difference in caring for a newbie (almost) 5 years ago than now at 31. Whew!

I think we're still undecided. We definitely want more children but sometimes I think I want to wait until dd turns 2 and other times I think 18 months would be fine because there is no guarantee we would get pregnant right away. I'm also going to be 27 in a couple weeks and if we want more than two kids I don't want to be too many years over 35 with the last child (we talked about four kids total).

We have talked about trying once DS is 2. I feel like it's a good gap. Just depends on where we're at in life by then.

My fertility didn't return until DS1 was 18mo, so I'm expecting something similar with this LO. We would like to have the next baby sometime between DS2's 2nd and 3rd birthdays.

So done. Took nearly 2 years and fertility treatments for DS so we started trying once AF came back at 7 months. He was a great pregnancy and easy baby. Well I basically got pregnant right away. 2u2 is killing me and 34 year old body. Plus her pregnancy was not a great one by any means. And she's a super hard baby. Stick a fork in me, I'm done!

We need DS2 to be 2 when baby comes so that I don't have two rear facing seats in my van, otherwise no one will be able to get in the back seat. We will start trying probably when LO is 18 months, but we are going to start talking about it for realsies in December.

90% sure we are one and done due yo age and finances. However, we have six frozen blasts that we can use to try again. By the time C is three, I want to have made the final decision. Any unused blasts will be 'adopted' to an infertile couple.

We have to decide if we are going to try naturally next time or do IVF w/PGD, and would either begin treatment in a year (because we would freeze the little suckers rather than implant immediately) or pull birth control in about 18 months.  I have gotten pregnant every.single.time we had unprotected sex during my fertile window, so we may just stop having sex that week every month in the meantime (in addition to using birth control) because I don't want an IUD. 

Oh, and we have to decide if we can emotionally handle all this again.

I had to SS. After a rough pregnancy and a horrible labor/delivery I'm torn. We got such a unicorn baby and could just spoil her rotten... But I also can't imagine life without a sibling. DH is an only child so I think he's leaning one and done. Plus he's already 35 and doesn't want to have kids when he's much older. I'm only 28 and I think in a year or two I might have enough distance to be ready to do it again... But I don't know.

I honestly don't know if we're done or not. If we decide to try for another, we will wait at least two years, since it's healthiest on mom and baby that way.

I could also see myself shifting focus toward a (second) masters degree and a new career, so maybe no more babies? I'm comfortable not knowing for the time being.

I never thought I'd be able to handle another baby after #1.  She was a tough one and I felt like I lost so much of my independence and identity, although I loved her madly, of course.  I also thought there was no way I could love another kid and that it was unfair ot her to have another.  Anyway, thank goodness I got pregnant by accident because DS is awesome and the two older kids are tight.  And now I have #3 at 40 YO.  Crazy, but I am physically fitter than I was in my 20's and this pregnancy, birth, and recovery was easier.

We are DONE...unless there's another accident.  I don't want the mirena and DH won't get snipped.  I dont' want to be on birth control, so condoms it is.  They've never not worked for us...except the two times that we DTD deed without them and I got pregnant both of those times...that's human error, not condom error.    So glad we messed up, though!  Think it would be kind of neat to have a playmate for LO, but I'm 40 and DH is 45 and I don't think we're up for four!

I'm 34, so if we want a 2nd child we need to have them close together. Plan is to start trying when DS is one ( I will be 35 then).My Dr thinks this is a good idea so I can be done having babies before 36.

This! Unless dd becomes a unicorn baby sometime soon we are definitely in the 90% one and done group.
Plus I had a complicated pregnancy due to underlying cardiac issues so not sure how my body would handle another.

I'm honestly probably the youngest on this board and I am undecided at this point. I got the Mirena so I may consider trying again after I have it taken out at the five year mark because I feel like I am too young to know if I will ever want another baby or not.

I plan to be done having kids by the time I am 27-28 though.

We're done. I will be having my ovary out sometime in the next year. Even though I bitched every day about being pregnant, I'm sort of sad that I won't be ever again. But I'm 36 and that hasn't made anything easier except the financial part of having kids.

We want one more, but I refuse to do the 2u2 thing again (unless there is an accident, holy shit, let there be no accidents!)  I love the 26 month gap between DS#1 and DS#2.  The 20 month gap between DS#2 and DS#3 is killer.  Right now the plan is to start trying June/July of next year (2016).

We plan to start trying this July. We would like #4 close in age to #3. It took us a year last time so we will see how soon we get pregnant. I would start trying now but we plan on moving cross country in June and I don't want to have to transfer drs mid pregnancy. I don't like being pregnant but I LOVE the outcome!

Before dd was born we were thinking of trying again as early as August in hopes of having #2 by spring 2016 but now we're not so sure. Dd is a lot of work and its hard to imagine having a two. Plus twins run in both of our families and I'm scared we'll be the ones to have the next set. I do want to leave time for a third child if we decide we want one (and don't have twins next time) though and I want to be done before I'm 35 (I'm 30 now) so we need to keep them somewhat close together. In any case the longest we will wait is 2 years but I am so not looking forward to being pregnant again!

I chose SS for obvious reasons. I'm one of those people who was all "never again!" But I want another now. I'm 30 so I have some time. So if I ever remarry, I'll start trying then. I'm going to assume this will be no sooner than when DS is three or four.

I chose 3+ because come March DH is separating from the military and going back to school (4 years) and I feel like it would be irresponsible to consider a new add to our family until he is done. I'm getting nervous though because we said we wanted 2-3 kids and I'm almost 27 already.

In 2-3 years we will decide whether we go for #3, considering our finances and we want to buy a house first. We have lots of hospital and MFM bills

This is exactly how I thought after DS#2.  We didn't even make it a year before we started trying again.  I got KU just before DS#2's 1st birthday.  I know that every pregnancy is different, but chasing after a toddler and a preschooler was brutal while pregnant.  Also, DS#2 is not yet a rational being.  DS#1 was at least somewhat rational, could (and would) follow simple instructions and did not need to be on 24/7 suicide watch while DS#2 was an infant.  It's amazing the difference 6 months makes!

Even now, though, my body is screaming at me to not wait 18 months (or so) to try again.  Holy crap, my body thinks it needs to be pregnant again.  Then my rational, debbie downer brain kicks in and says Hell to the NO, we are NOT doing 2u2 again!  Luckily, DH's rational brain and body are on the same page so he keeps me in check

As you guys already know, I have babies on the brain and am already wanting to try for #2. We are going to wait until at least August to start trying though, for a few reasons. 1. I want to build up some vacation time for my next maternity leave (we have a few vacations planned this summer that would take away from that). 2. It took us almost a year to get pregnant with C, so if it takes us this long again, we want to get started earlier. And most of all, 3. I want to lose at least 40 pounds before next pregnancy to try to make it a healthier experience, and to hopefully reduce the risk of developing GD. The weight loss might not stop GD from occurring, but if nothing else at least I will be at a healthier starting weight, which should help when I'm pregnant with a toddler (eek!).

Lol I know I'm ridiculous! I know id be fine waiting four years for #2 it's the #3 that scares me. I have wonderful ladies here for support though!
