Saturday nausea

I'm so nauseous. Which I'm taking as a good sign since I wasn't with the last pregnancy.

Hoping I get to leave work early. More poker playing tonight at my grandparents house. DH and I have been kicking butt.

My uncle just keeps getting worse. DH is taking my cousin to visit him in the hospital today. My mom is gonna (try to) prepare him for the end. She thinks by weeks end he'll be gone..

My appointment went well. We saw the sac and egg sac but were one week too early to see a heart beat. I go Friday to see the heart beat and have my first appointment for this baby. Crazy cakes.

Matthew doesn't need surgery. They diagnosed him with retracting testicles? So odd. As long as the muscle keeps letting them back down its fine. If the muscle stops letting them down he'll need surgery before he's 5.

What's wveryone else up to today?

  • Little man is so miserable, and his fever went up. He woke up after almost 2 hrs, took some Tylenol, and he just nursed back to sleep. This may be the sickest he has been.
  • @cagoldi I did the #7 toddler meals on Tuesday this week...it took forever but we have so much food for G now. The way the recipe is written for the chicken Apple sausage egg muffins we ended up with 24 mini muffins and 12 regular muffin sized ones. I claimed the big muffins for breakfast this week since DH will be out of town.

I'm nervous. DH is having some friends over to watch the fights tonight. Usually I would watch a chick flick in my room but he just told me one of the guys is bringing his new girlfriend. This guy and his now ex wife were our best "couple friends" before their divorce. I don't think I'm ready to meet his girlfriend. Is that weird? Oh and now I feel like I have to stay up with them.

Are you still friends with the wife?
    Yes.
  • @cagoldi‌ That's awesome that did all that cooking! I feel like I can't do anything in the kitchen with LO around. Any tips on child management? I can't wait till LO is old enough to hang out and "help"

  • Cadence headbutted me in the jaw today. I said, "Ow! That is NOT nice." She looked and me and then slapped me across the face and laughed.
What the heck am I doing wrong here? She beats the crap out of me and laughs like it is the funniest thing in the world. I tell her no and that it isn't nice and today I made her get off my lap and play by herself for a few minutes. She comes right back and does it again, though, so I'm not sure how exactly to get her to stop.
She does this anytime we tell her no. She looks at us and does the exact same behavior again, whatever it is, usually laughing while she does it. So is she not understanding the meaning of "no" or is she basically just giving us a big "f you, I'm going to do what I want"?

Just from my experience, the bigger deal I seem to make of things right now, the stronger the reaction I get from G. So lately when he grabs or hits us we just say "be gentle" and redirect to something else. It usually gets him to focus on something else. Interrupting his focus on the thing I don't want him to do seems to be enough for now.

@kfran84 My kitchen is tiny. While I do prep I let A hang out. I give him a whisk and bowl, potato masher, spatula, something cooking related to play with. He knows where I keep my cookbooks and will get into those and look at them. When I run the oven the door gets hot so I have to kick him out at that point.

He gets frustrated sometimes and he wants to be part of the action. I am looking into buying a learning tower and hoping he would enjoy it more if he could see what I'm doing. If we do that then I'll probably just give him some of his play pots, pans, knives and whatever else to imitate cooking.
