hi everyone. I just want to introduce myself to the forum.
I'm 31 years old an am currently 7w4d with my second pregnancy. I'm incredibly terrified for this go around after losing my first to a 1 in 10,000 birth defect at 20 weeks last time.
Our anatomy scan, and the 3 subsequent ones I had done afterwards showed that my amniotic fluid was almost nothing because my little girl didn't develop kidneys or a bladder, and without these, wouldn't develop lungs. One of the worst experiences of my life was making the choice to tfmr. I still have horrible nightmares of the moments before going under anesthesia and saying goodbye, and then waking up crying. All we have to show of her is her handprint that the dr was able to capture.
This happened in June of 2014, and I'm scared witless that it's going to happen again. So I figured I'd bum around this board and try to figure out how you ladies are all coping. I hope you all have healthy and happy 9 months.
I'm going in for a scan on Monday, and I pray there's a heartbeat, even though I know my scary journey is just beginning. It's hard to stay optimistic and these days I mostly feel depressed.

Yay!! The scan went well! My little one has a nice 153 heartbeat and is developing correctly! Thank you ladies for keeping your fx!
Hopefully we continue to get good news. The genetic counseling appointment that's coming up is a bit scary, but I'm feeling less morose.

BFP #1 August 24, 2013! MMC discovered Oct. 3, 2013, D&C Oct. 4, 2013
BFP #2 December 17, 2013! MMC discovered Jan. 28, 2014, D&C Jan. 30, 2014
Testing done: male with complete Trisomy 16, not hereditary. Tested me for clotting disorders, all normal.
Feb. 2014 all clear again to TTC! Will start progesterone supplementation with the next BFP just in case. Oct. 2014 more testing just because, thyroid and autoimmune panels = normal. Diagnostic U/S = no abnormalities. Will keep trying for 3-6 more months, doctor still optimistic!
